Base Layers

Anyone have any recommendations for a lightish base layer? I've got some heavy ass fleece pants for super cold days, but my merino long johns just got torn up. They're icebreaker, and dope asf, but I'm broke and can't drop 100 on em rn.

I have a pair of Under Armour base layer 3.0s that are are awesome. They are pretty reasonable cheap and super warm.

I've got a pair of rei synthetic base layers and their inexpensive as far as base layers go and real warm. I'm sure the Evo brand ones are similar. I just ordered some smartwool and mons royale merino blends from Evo too, all their base layers were on sale this week. Might still be?

merino and they have a normal one

I use Helly Hansen lifa stripe crews because they were free when I instructed at Northstar. Also, I use a Halti base layer set I bought in Finland for like $30. Both are great

I have a question about base layer bottoms. Lots of people recommend full-length tights. Do y'all tuck your tights into your boots underneath your ski socks? That sounds super uncomfortable. I prefer 3/4 length because I don't want anything in my boots other than my feet and socks

Yeah full length blows imo. Can’t always find 3/4 tho.

but 3/4 plus long socks is perfect

I just fold my full length ones up

I usually put em on top of my socks. I don't mind cause I got skinny ass legs, so it helps add a little extra volume to my boots.

Glad we're all on the same page haha. I might find an old pair of full-lengths and experiment with cutting the cuffs to the perfect ski boot length

If it’s worth anything I accidentally bought women’s leggings in store that were marked as men’s.

I just cut a dick hole and it worked
