Barry Bond*

the * is a good one. still coulda spelled bonds correctly though. they should do something like that next to his number of HRs. if they did it to marris whose only crime was hiting 61 in more games than the bade, they should certainly do something of the sort for bonds.

people that dont like bonds because of his roids are dicks...do you have any idea how many baseball players are on the juice right now?????and tell me how many other players are close to as many homers as him righ now???NONE.so that shows that obvisley he is a great player

he committed purgery.

we all know that steroids don't give you the hand eye coordination or swing mechanics to hit 714 homers. he is a great baseball player.

"I hate that guy."

-- Tyler Snyder, the 19-year-old Oakland Athletics fan who caught No. 714 on the fly with his glove

When Roger Marris hit 61 long balls to pass Babe Ruth's record back in the day, they put a * next to it because they extended the season. So, he had more games to hit 61 many homeruns in than Ruth did to hit his 60. The * means he did it but not the same way as it was previously done. With Bonds, the * means he did it with steroids. Get it?

but all you need to do to know that he has used steroids is to look at his body from earlier in his career to now. puffyness in someone's cheeks is a sure sign of steroid use.

he says that he didn't know what he was being given. no one is going to be aqble to prove that he did know unless he signed some papers or something like that. had he done that, they would have already surfaced and we wouldnt be having this conversation

Honestly, I hate this fucking argument. Obviously hitting a home run involves a lot more than pure physical strength, but can you really deny the fact that many of his home runs would have been simply deep fly balls had he not been juicing up?

Yes, Bonds is a good hitter. But ignoring years of cheating simply because hitting a homer takes hand eye coordination is complete and utter bullshit.

Heres some facts:

1. From 1986-1995, Bonds had ONE season with 40+ home runs.

2. From 1996-2005 Bonds had seven seasons with 40+ home runs.

3. AND since Barry allegedly started using BALCO, he hasn't gone a single season with less than 40 homers, exept last season where he played only 14 games.

Because all players get better as they age right?

not really impressive? are you kidding me? this is an amazing accomplishment whether he used steriods or not....i definitely do not support bonds in terms of his steroid use but either way u cant deny that hitting 714 home runs off major league pitchers is impressive. steriods dont do anything in terms of making you a better hitter..they may make you stronger but you still need to be able to hit the ball, and we all know that there are/were a ton of players taking steriods and he was the only one that could hit this many home runs. yes he is not equal to the babe who did it with nothing other than natural ability, but nonetheless bonds is a great baseball player

what if he took steroids only makes him stronger right? So he still has to aim to hit the ball. i think it is impressive

hank aaron: 180 pounds

Barry Bonds: 230 pounds

Hank Aaron hit homes with proper techique and form, not through muscle

Barry Bonds has one of the worst swings in baseball, he just compenstates with the big steroid muscles

if you read the rest of my posts, i do believe bonds is using steroids. look at his body from the beginning of his career and look at it now...clearly that's not from an hour or two in the gym a few times a week and puffy cheeks are the first sign that someone is on juice. and nowhere did i say that hand eye coordination and swing mechanics are override his habits and they certainly are not the only components to hitting homeruns.

people say that because he uses steriods his name should be removed from the record books and shit, but has anyone ever stopped and thought that he might have been punished enough? think of how small his d-unit must be after all those years of steriod use

i definatley think Baonds should not be able to get into the hall of fame because he is a cheater, someone said that he isnt the only on that used steriods iwch is obviously true, but he is one of the few who have succesfully used steriods, him and McGuire definatley used steriods in my opinion, you just need to look and the weight they gained from the begging of their career and the end.

Another thing that bugs me is that he gets walked so many times thru-out the year, but people like Andruw Jones and Albert Pujols, who hit home runs legitametly dont get intentionally(sp) walked, Pujols is going to be the fastest player to 500 home runs if he continues at this pace, he averages 40.2 home runs in his first five seasons, and if he continues with that pace he is going to hit 804 home runs if he has a 20 year career

hes not a cheater, cheating would be paying off the pitcher who is ever pitching to throw lightly right down the middle, using a corked bat, and some super high tech distance baseball, thats cheating.

"hes not a cheater, cheating would be paying off the pitcher who is ever pitching to throw lightly right down the middle, using a corked bat, and some super high tech distance baseball, thats cheating."

how is using chemicals to make your body stronger not cheating, even more so when all the other dudes did it naturally..... if you worked years trying to perferect the perfect switch c10 and finally got it, how would you feel if some one came up with a drug that could make any gaper do one first try, just isnt right now is it.
