Post your favourite bansky piece

that bullshit hes on isnt real bombing, so dont get it twisted. i give him a lil respect for actually doing something illegal, but other than that hes a son...

because piecing is for sons. i dont give a shit who he could burn, id rag that kid on principle. if didnt do ya thing, ya gonna get no respect. thats how it is and thats how its gonna be.

That's great.

Good thing this Banksy dude doesn't speak to millions internationally that are caught in a vacant, expressionless world, and whose wit and humor coupled with skill and tact make property values go up where his work resides, all the while cracking fun at the urban world and making profound statements on society, or you'd look like an ass calling him an amateur.

i never said he was amateur. hes pro at his bullshit. but its just that-bullshit

he should go rack a few cans and get grimy like the real bombers.

but whatever, if you wanna jock this fool and ride his dick, go for it.

actually, he's very legit at freehand, he can bomb with the best of them, he did for a while. he just decided to go in a new direction. you should know before you hate.

man, i know my history better than most and in all this time i have never seen one banksy fill, throw, tag etc. just that hyped stencil shit.

post some banksy bombing right here and then ill form a new opinion.

I couldn't find great examples online, because of course if I search for Banksy I get his popular stencil stuff.

^that is sick..but..its the same graf that everyone else is doing..at least this banksy guy does something unique and interesting besides normal textbook graf

All of that reeks of originality. Wow, ballooned out letters! Banksy brings something to and uses the very surrounding he tags on. That stuff is stale.

whatever dude, hate it or love it, this is the grassroots, gutter bombing, original graff. its about gettin up, not drawin faggot ass little flowers on everything and making "profound statements on urban culture".

graff is suposed to be a "profound statement on urban culture" its about freedom of expression, not just getting your name up.

my previous statement aside, who says im not expressin myself

my expressionism is an anti-government, you wont win kind of attitude.

to me, thats what its about. if you got different opinions, thats great, you dont like mine, lick my balls.

basically what ive been tryin to convey to you cats is that i dont consider banksy real graffiti, regardless the message he so "profoundly" gets across to all you jock ass haters.

but im done arguin over the internet to you sons.

soooo pretty much all of that sucked shit?

not saying i can do better because i can't, but theres a hellavulot better tagging in my pinner ass town...I would have thought you would at least post something good after spewing out so much hate.

seriously dude, why the hate, i think the fact that when he "tags" someone's wall they don't go and scrub it off they try and sell it..says a little something..also you can make a statement without pissing people off, you'll probably find more people take notice..

Yeah? I don't have that message conveyed through putting your name up in ugly monochrome balloon letters on a wall or storefront. What i get is unoriginal pseudo activism.

stop being so condescending. aren't you like 15?

anyways, i'm sure banksy doesn't consider himself "real" graffiti either, he'd probably call himself an activist or something. regardless of that, and of the fact that i myself think he is very overplayed, he still has more artistic talent and creativity, and balls than any of the people's stuff you posted. if he wanted to, he could bomb back alleys, but instead he's out painting his own stuff and "getting up" in absurd places, like the israel/palestine wall. i'm not even talking about any messages, the guy is creative and he gets up in high profile places.

Banksy makes art that actually says something, and it's kind of sad to see that you can't appreciate it. Maybe you view me the same way because what you call "real" graffiti is what I call eyesores we see on every interstate overpass, railroad car, and alley across America.

I guess I just don't get the point of doing a tag of your name/crew/whateverthefuckyouwant in unoriginal letters. To me it says nothing more than the fact that you've been to that particular spot and that you have no artistic talent whatsoever.

Furthermore, his work says so much more than the cliched "I hate the guhvment" stuff you seem to praise so much. Once again, I'm tired of seeing the same thing over and over and over.....and over again. Get some originality. Just because you spray painted the same thing in a different spot doesn't make it profound; rather, repetition makes it redundant and detracts from what little meaning it had to start with. But hey, that's just my opinion.

what i find sad is that you cant find the beauty in that throw, tag whatever for what it is. bombing is the original graffiti. right around the time when painting trains became popular back when people had style and color, when hip-hop was young, bombing became a whole new branch, i guess you could call it, of grafitti.

anyways, my opinion on being anti-government, which apparently ive been praising so much, really has nothing to do with graffiti. i dont feel completely anti-government, but mostly. our country is run by a bunch of greedy, lying bastards, and i figure, im going to take the attitude to graffiti. just to let them know that if they think they got shit gentrified, the lay men you shit on will make it gaudy the second you turn around.

so, once you learn your history on graffiti, what it really means (other than gettin up) then come talk to me the "plague" in every overpass, train car, and back alley. and its pretty obvious your not a writer because you have a very conservative opinion on the matter. just get educated. i am and i think im a little more entitled to my opinion because i understand both sides of it. you on the other hand, choose to look at it as an eyesore. ignorance is what it is...

personally i thought the light grafitti was sick as well as banksy, his book is pretty cool, especially his zoo story

if you think those "greedy lying bastards" give a shit about your ugly, stale, scrawling letters on some alley somewhere, you are sadly mistaken.

art makes a statement. Banksy makes statements. you make shit with no meaning. maybe it did have meaning initially in the 80's, but it doesnt anymore.

Don't make judgements of me if you don't even know my stance on graffiti. I see it as art (a form of it I really enjoy), I just happen to not care if you put your name or your crew's name on a wall. And you're allowed to evolve from what the founders were doing, being stagnant does nothing but foster unoriginality. I just don't see the point of putting the time and effort into something that has almost no meaning or aesthetics--that's not art, that's vandalism. If you keep doing the same thing over and over it will transgress from art to eyesores really quickly. That's cool if you embrace what was happening in the past, but even the best mimicry gets old. Just imagine what it would be like if people took your ideals over to music; we'd be stuck with 80's pop and hair metal for all eternity.

no you misinterpreted what i said, or i phrased it wrong. i was just trying to give you a little background to where bombing came from. and dont tell me what im doing has no meaning. it may not to you, but to me this means the world. so, im just going to leave it at that because i really dont care what you think of me or what im doing.

I really am surprised someone hated on bansky. Wow.

The FOrd Model T qwas the Original Car, so do you hate on the Ford GT ?

your linear train of thought isnt something I would be proud of.

I think we should post some of our favourite pieces then, compare tastes.

Ill post mine when we reach pg 2

"Loop-Digga" you are dumb. Bombing a new branch of graffiti? Your contradicting yourself: "bombing is the original graffiti" "bombing became a new branch".

Graffiti is writing. Thats what you do writing on a wall.

Soooooo graffiti is anything you want it to be: throw-ups, handstyles, pieces, wheatpasting, stencils, rollers, street art, etc.

Guys with some of the best throw ups in the world are also extremely good at pieces.

Look at cope2.

Btw. since your a bomber and everything is about getting up. Banksy is even better then you at getting up. Also why do you think this guy isn't a writer?

alright heres what i meant

when graffiti started, subway trains were the main and most popular spots. the whole point was to king a line, but with skill. now, this is considered bombing, although they were using wild styles, colors and characters--piecing basically. it is considered bombing because they were getting up any way they could to king the line. but bombing, like what it is today, throw ups, tags etc. is a new branch of the original movement. thats what i meant dunn dunn. i know what im talkin about, but maybe i didnt explain clearly.

but now cope2, no one in the entirety of FOREVER can talk shit on him. hes got 30 years in the game! he kinged his first line at like 13. hes put mad work in. now i dont entirely agree with his "selling-out", doing productions for money, that kind of thing, i respect it. you know why? cause he put in work, fell off, came back and deserves the ends he has made. he has earned the respect he deserves. but banksy, to me doesnt seem like hes earned the respect that cope has. and to be honest, i dont think anything he does is funny or witty. i find it annoying. if you like him, great. but if i dont want to give him my respect, thats my thing, and you have no right to push it on me. did i try and get yall to flip on him? no.

and to you down there....saber? come on dude. do you really think i can talk shit on him? he did the biggest piece in the world. and he did it all illegally. ive seen a banksy piece on the side of a tanker, half the size, about a third of the quality....this is why he hasnt earned my respect. MSK AWR took over L.A. entirely with peices. i dont particularly like his style but, he did his thing....illegally. that is why he gets mad respect from me.

to me, graffitti only belongs in the gutter. the back alley, the rooftop, the street. not in the white gallery.

if any one else wants to talk...go ahead because i got my opinions, you got yours. they may not line up, but im not gonna change mine.

Loop you're so gangster, i wish i could tag bubble letters like you! That is the coolest shit eva!! lyke hoooly shit nigga that is fuuhhcking doppppe shit man, that guys is ottottally a fag he doesn't tag like i do in da hood. fuck that faaggyittt.

Just shut up. Art > stupid tags "bubble letters".

i'm sorry, but are you fucking retarded? You say yourself the reason why you respect Saber is because he accomplished a huge, and fucking sick, piece illegally. And YET, you don't seem to think that tagging a a piece with two kids playing, and a crack in the wall revealing a beach scene on a wall SYMBOLIZING the ongoing struggle between two people that has taken thousands of lives, money, and overall bullshit... not worthy of respect?

you, dear sir, are a fucking dumbass.

ahah you've got the typical 'bomber' ignorance. you post some pictures of some peoples work, bassically a name on a wall under a bridge, then say thats the only true form of graffiti and everything else is crap.

you just want to 'get up', right? thats your goal, to get a reputation for your pseudonym, correct? Banksy is arguably the most wanted graffiti artist today, theres a reason for that, he 'gets up' all over the place. fuck all city, banksy's bassically global. he does the same thing that you may, or may not do, but its actually intellegent. theres some thought behind his work, its not just the same bubble letter throws everyone else does.

http://www.briansewell.com/artist/b-artist/banksy/banksy-palestinian-tag.html

read that and you may learn that graffiti is bigger than some throws and peices in a dark alley.

So you don't like Banksy because he does his stuff legally? That really shows that you don't know much about him, he's being doing graffiti here in England for years, like since the early nineties, it's just because he does some a little different and in my mind more creative and meaningful that he has the exposure that he has today. Just because he has now (after ages) chosen to make some money out of what he does doesn't make his message any less meaningful.

If you're into illegality how can you not be impressed by someone tagging a wall in what is essentially a war zone or just going into the Louvre and hanging their own painting there?
