Banshee bungee, DIY or pay for the real thing?

I have been researching about the banshee bungee and I still dont know if i should make my own out of shock cord or if i should just buy the real thing. Have other people had the same problems?

I would just get the real thing. I've never heard of anyone making a DIY version that is as good as the an actual banshee bungee.

Also, don't get the 10 ft, the 20 ft is the only one worth getting, and it is well worth it if you actually intend on hitting some urban.

I mean if you're one of those people that want's to put in a ton of effort just to save a few bucks on something go for it but there's a very high chance it won't be as good as the bungee. The price isn't THAT bad for what you get out of it.

I think there was a tutorial somewhere of somebody building one. Can't remember how good it was.

Yeah, i've seen heaps of people make them but they were shit. Also would it be cheaper to use the banshee for getting speed on a summer set up rather then spending the time and money creating a drop in?

If you are making a set-up for a backyard rail, don't bother with the bungee. For the cost of a bungee, you can make a legit drop-in, which is much more ideal if you are just hitting a rail in your backyard. Bungees need at least 2 people to pull back, and you will get sick of doing that every time. Plus, you need a lot more space to use a bungee (and therefore more turf, assuming this is a summer set-up) than you would need if you are using a drop-in.

Yeah i guess so, but i was kinda hoping that if people actually believed the bungee would work i could build a mobile summer setup with a role of turf, a rail and a small ramp, meaning i could take it around places with me rather than building a structure in my backyard that my parents would hate.

Making a functional long lasting bungee is incredibly difficult. Just buy it. Also if you don't have 2-3 people who are willing to do urban or anything with it then it's not even worth buying. I've used mine about 4 times in the 2 years I've had it because I'm one of the only freestyle skiers in a 30 minute radius, and all my other friends just don't even wanna bother. There's no I in Banshee Bungee.

Leave the site for a bit and now eheath is modding?

Feel like I saw that earlier but didn't think anything of it till now. When was this whole transition?

Sorry, I've been living under rocks.

That's what we did last summer. Nobodies parents would let us build in their yard, so we got a 35 ft roll of carpet and just brought a jump and PVC down to the park. Got like 8 people so we could take turns pulling the bungee. It worked pretty well. Not ideal, but a great plan B to having a real drop in!

Since me and all my friends live in apartments we just stuck turf onto some pallets and we just take them and our rail to a nearby hill and session it like that

not question to spam, just made a search and replied to 3 posts, something in contrary if I recommend the best? isn't the spirit of snowboarders sharing best experiences or you hate the others independently?

It sounds more like you work for those people and when you work for a company and endorse the product in that way it's spam.

Just a few weeks ago I made my own bungee for only $110. It works super well and for some features actually gives too much speed. All you need is two 100 ft long 1\4 inch shock cords. cut them both into three equal pieces and braid them (this takes a while but makes them sturdy and much stretchier). Next, but bowline knots on the end of each of the sic individual ropes and hook the to caribbiners on both sides (this will keep the braids from coming undone). Now make a handle with rope on one side (extra handles for pulling optional) I used part of an old hockey stick and drilled holes on either end the put string through. and on the other end put and long rope attached to the far caribbiner with knots every 10 feet or so. This allows to adjust the leangth of it when it is attached to something; just put the whole bungee through the section of rope around something that you think is long enough. have fun bungeeing and save a few bucks guys!
