I may get hated on for this, but i just have to say something. NS has always been something fun for skiers to do when not skiing. These days i come on here and find myself getting really pissed about all of these dumb threads. Im not even that old of a member and it has already changed so much since i joined. I look around and i see so many users with post counts under a hundred making the same thread over and over again. I remeber the day when we knew the phrases bang her like a hammer, pee in her but, how do you get to chads for altas parking lot, etc. This site wasnt created to see who could have the highest post count, or who could have the highest karma. This site is for skiers who love the sport. Its not for complaining about how much dumont sucks, or how pollard is a pussy. Those guys love this sport, i love this sport, and i hope you guys do to. Now lets not let the little shit get in the way of that.
 
youre right, skiing should just stop growing and this site should be closed to new members.

i just get super blitzed and look at all the hilarious shit in nsg.
 
jokes. just saying theres always gonna be kids like that. this community is huge and apparently growing - at least online. time keeps going, new kids cant be held accountable for not being around, being born yet, just starting to ski whatever. just goes back to searchbar!
 
The rest of that stuff I was like "Oh well, whatever," but that one is just plain wrong, mods should ban people for that on sight.

I think it's actually better when only a few of us know the old NS shit. Its the nice thing about being here for a while, it gives a sense of comradery amongst the older members because it's an easy way to tell when someone knows what is up.
 
i understand your point but i liked the comradery that we all felt twards everyone else. we have always been a bunch of haters but it used to be different. I just dont like the feeling of the being the last of the mohicans. Snowboarding progressed and now snowboarding is something that everyone does. Just the other day i met a kid who skied and i asked him what skis he had. He knew they were line but he didnt know the name. They were invaders, how do you not know that you have invaders? he then proceded to talk about his sick marker jester bindings. he didnt know his shit. skiing used to be about skiing, now its just about being cool.
 
ive been on this site for a pretty damn long time, or at least i think 6 years is long. when i started it was awesome, but i will be honest, its been a downward spiral everyday since i first came on here. its disappointing. ive topped going on as much especially in the past couple months, its just been garbage. im hoping that its just a phase and it will get back to how it once was.
 
Believe it or not most of the things people say on here aren't originally from NS. Pee in her butt started off somewhere else in the internet. I guess when it got introduced here people thought it was something original.
 
Yeah it's been on a bunch of other forums but noobs think they're the shit for saying it. Also the ones that say the font got bigger *facepalm*
 
There was a time where people would just post "+1" in threads just to raise their post count. I forget when that ended and I don't know when it started, but I remember it being around in 2006.

But idk, NS has changed a lot. Some change was for the better and some was for the worse. Hell, even last fall felt like it was less full of annoying threads, but last fall people were saying the same thing about the year before it and so on.

Hopefully all the bs will die down in the winter.

i think its long enough to hate on the kids who have been here two months and post stupid ass threads and dont use searchbar, ive been here only two years and i was the same way when i started, i may still post stupid shit sometimes but i at least have reasoning behind it
 
it's not just post count, I have very few, but I've been around for years! I'm more of a reader. I share my valued opinion only when it is truly needed, lol.

also legit. just sayin its not only the number of posts that makes someone's opinion good, or gives them seniority on NS. But it does help :)

I always think its funny how people draw an arbitrary line in the sand that revolves around themselves just to say it was better at such and such a time. I thought this site was the best when we hit 500 members, 5,000 members, and then 50,000, and maybe we should have cut off new members there. I remember when things like "Bang me like a hammer", "pee in her butt", "skierman strikes again" and "get full tilts" were annoying as fuck, yet now members use them to define the high points in the history of NS. You were all newbs at some point, and almost everyone is guilty of making a dumb post, so get off your high horse and enjoy what we have. Instead of being an ass to a new user and instantly calling them out, offer a little advice and then maybe we wont see as many useless and annoying threads.

who is to decide on who is a senior member and who is a noob? maybe instead of having the silly ranks that depend on post count it sould depend on how long u been a member so everyone knows who is a noob and who is god
 
it's called member number, those are chronologically ordered and are a pretty accurate indication of seniority in terms of site membership. but real ski bums didn't even have internet before 2000 so whatevs
 
well if you want to take a break from being MR. Panda, you can use vincepru for a few days and up my post count a few thousand...

i only post whore when im drunk, and that usually leads up to verbal harassment charges
