Alright, me and my buddy are going out to Banff in less than 2 weeks, and we're both from the east. What can we expecct for conditions etc./do any locals have any tips?

oh, and for what its worth, this is my first time skiing out west, so i'm not sure what to expect.

Word. Like buddy said, you'll there'll be POW and Sun/Slush, but it's a damn good time to ski.

Just don't be stupid and go off-piste looking for "POW". In April there's usually no such thing, and it's can be friggin' dangerous due to heating/cooling cycles.

There'll be plenty of coverage and the best snows will be at higher elevations. Oh, you'll have fun, no worries about that.

ok. thanks for the advice. I didnt even think there was a remote chance of any form of pow whatsoever.

well lets just say i was skiing knee deep pow at the top of nakiska, the end of the season is when lots of good dumps usually happen, pe prepared for lots of snow or good weather and bluebird days, cause it can change up here sooooo quickly

yeah dude we hiked pretty far over and got some sick snow, but it frustrated the hell out of me because i only brought my centered, detuned park skis and i sucked balls in it, so after the park opened we just did the jump line all day (which is sick)

ya i had my centered dumonts lol but it was still fun, and we got our passes pulled for hiking into "avalance areas" at about 1 so we just ate, got passes bcak and when home, did they have a comp there?
