Bands that dont suck (list 2)

1) Beloved...true emo type music, good melodies with breakdowns. Intense stuff, there is a techno band called beloved too so dont get confused. Recommended songs: Kiss it goodbye and Blue Period

2) By A Thread...vancouver people may know them. Incredible melodicle hardcore/emo core band. Probably one of my favorite bands, very catchy songs with good lyrics. Recomended songs: A Stale Goodbye and January 25th

3)Ducky Boys...good old straight ahead boston Punk, along the lines of old school Dropkick Murphys. They recently reformed and started playing again. Recommended songs: Pride and Ballad of the Forgotten

4)Open Hand: absolutely incredible band, along the lines of Thursday but they dont suck. I get to see them next week with From Autumn to Ashes, an unusual pairing of bands but I am looking forward to that. Songs: The Dream and In Your Eyes.

Let me know which ones you actually like and I shall post more similar bands...Good music rules and its a shame that there are so many great bands out there deserving of some attention that are going poor.

The Juliana Theory

definately one of the best emo bands i have ever heard. even though their sound is still changing, the cd 'Emotion is Dead' is what got them recognized.

The Charlatans UK

An indie band from uh, the UK i guess, has a different sound with a cool beat mixed in.

Sense Field

My Favorite emocore band so far, this band has been is from cali and has been around forever, struggling to break though until they made 'Tonight and Forever' download 'save youself'

Further Seems Forever

this band used to be called Armstrong until they did some changes to the members and to their sound. download 'snowbirds and townies'

I don't get why people call it emo-core or scremo. Before all these soft bands came out and all you would always hear people talking about emo bands like Boy Sets Fire.

i dont get what screamo is, emo to me is softer than punk and more emotional, obviously, like dashboard confessional.

Further Seems Forever was not armstrong...most of the guys used to be in STRONGARM. Strongarm is probably one of the greatest christian hardcore bands of all time. The first singer of FSF was actually chris aka dashboard confessional. Their new singer was in another christian hardcore band Affinity.

Screamo/skremo/emo-core...that is what emo really started as. It would have fairly melodic music with screaming break downs by the singer with very personal song lyrics. Now emo is being slapped on watered down pop punk songs and being sold to the MTV crowd as the next cool thing. Go listen to Rites of Spring...one of the original emo bands.

I hate all the friggin labeling of bands the only reason i ever use them is to describe stuff to people cause most people hear guitar rock and have no clue what that is or math rock, grindcore, skremo bands are way different than what people think of emo-core. Boy Sets Fire is an amazing band but they are far from skremo, for good skremo go look at a song by I Hate Myself called 'Less than nothing'
