Bands that dont suck (list 1)

Some suggested listening material for all those people always asking or looking for new stuff, these are band that play different types of music...

1) Hopesfall, great band. Have amazing melodic sections of songs with intense breakdowns (screamo-ish at times). great instrumentation on their songs,

2) The Dedication. recently played their last show, they are putting out one more record though. Hardcorish but with more of an emo melody and no tough guy voice. Great sing alongs, too bad they arent playing live anymore.

3) Stretch Arm Strong...melodic hardcore. Not too hard but still have some good mosh type parts. They are playing a bunch of shows with the Hope Conspiracy this summer, if the come near you see them.

4) Junction 18. Indie rock band...for a great song check out 'Granite Street Knife Fight'

5) The Aeffect, a new new wave band. You have to listen to it to understand. Interesting stuff, mellow and lots of synthesizers and bass beats.

this is a good idea. everyone should post bands that noone really knows about and list what kind of music they play that way people can check them out

foxtrot zulu-a meladoic acoustic sound wiht some kind of ska trumpet. a good band check out a pretty perfect goddamn day

yeah dispatch is sweet. i love the song the general, but i havent heard any other songs. what are some good ones?

shit gordo if youve only heard the general you fit in with all the 12 year old girls at their shows. i would suggest getting their double live cd 'gut the van' it has a good mix of all their stuff

Shit, I forgot to mention for everyone to check out The Samples. They are out of VT and CO. They are such a good band to listen to if you are looking for stuff to chill to. They are pretty similar to O.A.R.

28 days are great, i love 'rip it up'. the drummer got killed in a car crash recently though.

The Whitlams are another sick aussie band but are a bit different to the punk of 28 days, the Whitlams are more soft rock

Dispatch is not small at all. They are actually quite big east coast, prolly other places too...They played a horrible show at St mikes, hopefully they don't always suck that much live. two coins is my favorite song by them.

 
Catch 22, Thrice( not just ultrablue im soo sick of that song), Pivit, Pennywise of course, Good Riddance, Sick Shift, Thursday( kinda weird sound dont really know what it is) thats all i got

Rules for the list...no naming bands that play on soundtracks for ski movies. We are attempting to list new bands for people to check out, so thus bands like Thrice, Pennywise, and Pivit though people probably like them they already know who their are because of PBP

Relient K, that is some good poppy punk (really christian music too) Some of their songs are pretty funny like Maralyn Manson Ate my GF

Yeah Dispatch is huge in Chicago these days. They play there songs probally 2-3 times an hour on the alternative stations!

I knew of pennywise and pivit wayyyy before any pbp movies. But thrice i did hear from propaganda but i didnt just stay i liked them cause i knew one song ultrablue, i think that song isone of there worst.

Built To Spill...undeniably one of the best bands ever. Doug Martsch is awesome. also, Pavement. both of these ands are a little different, you might not like them at first. give em a chance and most likely you'll love them.

 
yeah... dispatch is CRAZY on the east coast... specially in Mass-- they're from boston so... it figures :)

AFI is awesome... definetly one of the best punk groups out there...

Missing Joe is good if you're into softer stuff

Same with Iced Earth

40 Below Summer and Cradle of Filth, if you like the good stuff

Dispatch is big everywhere, West Coast is crazy over them too.
