after not watching band of brothers in several years i decided to watch the series again. it is without doubt the most powerful and well told story ever to be aired on tv, in my mind at least. i thought it really captures wwii, and how terrifying war was

HBO is coming out with a new WWII series, The Pacific. Like band of brothers, its produced by tom hanks and steven spielberg. its about marines fighting the japs on the pacific front and its supposed to be the most expensive production in tv history

heres the trailer

Thanks for posting this, I loved Band of Brothers and now I'm so stoked for this. I had no idea this was coming out. Gonna be good no doubt.

band of brothers is so good, probabaly the greatest tv show ever.

are the charcters in the Pacific a reel people?, cause that is what made band of brothers so amasing

i saw boobs

anyways, this does look sick, and i'm definitely going to watch this (online since i dont have hbo..)

the only resemblance i see is the two chords at :55-:58 and again at 1:07-1:12

and thats similar to the king of gondor music in lotr. yes, call me a nerd, i played the lotr music in 8th grade band. no, i did not continue band into high school

it wasnt so much about the action as it was the power and realism of the show that made it sooooooo good. seeing someone like LT buck compton be removed from the war efforts because he saw two close friends each with a leg blown off was moving

If you loved B.O.B, please please please read the book it is based on, Band of Brothers by Stephen E. Ambrose....it is a wayyy more in depth look into the wartime experiences of the men of easy company.

What is your favorite episode? For me, and for the sheer power of the battle scenes, I'd have to say Carentan, Bastogne, or the one where they make their assault on Foy where Lieutenant Dyke totally loses it. For the sheer beauty of the setting, I'd say the last 2 episodes where they are in Austria and Germany, especially the episode where they are on the lake in Austria......fucking beautiful, I would so live there.

holy shiiiiiiiiiit, the scene where he takes command and runs through german lines and then comes right back, so sick. Also, his little speech to Blythe in Carentan was awesome.

also a damn good show, but doesn't match the epic-ness of B.O.B. I spent all last year at school binging on the Wire.

i was a huge pusher of band of brothers back in the day, bought it the day it came out on DVD. ill have to pick up HBO for this. i have high hopes, i hope it compares.

probably bastogne. when theyre getting bombarded and the cold winters and that nurse that eugene talks to, its all just so powerful

I read the book too and I completely agree. The show was amazing but it doesn't even compare to the book. There were so many more characters and events that weren't even shown in the series. Everybody needs to read the book
On another note I've been waiting for this show for a while. It looks good, hopefully It'll be what I expect.

I am personally extremely excited about this. BoB is hands down the greatest mini-series ever produced IMO and I have watched it probably 10 times since buying the collector tin.

I really hope that Hanks and Speilberg keep the same vibe going. BoB is truly epic so I am expecting great things from this series. Hopefully it can live up to the expectations of all the BoB fans out there.

same. nothing like a chill day watching America's finest fuck up some Nazi's and then act emotional so you know they are actual people outside of the action.

easily my favorite film/show of all time and hearing that something just like it is going to come out again makes my day.

"The amazing part wasn't when he ran by the Germans and they didn't do anything. The amazing part was after hooking up with Alpha that he came back."

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH, goosebumps. HBO does a really fucking good job with their war mini series.

"RAY! NO FUCKING COUNTRY MUSIC!" -Brad

"You are right Brad, now is NOT the time for country. A little more old school R&B like. LOOK AT ME! I AM STEVIE WONDER, BLIND AS A MOTHERFUCKER IN MY PIECE OF SHIT NVGS!!! LA LA LA LAAAAA!!"-Ray

definitely bastogne and carentan.

when they found the concentration camp too that was a pretty moving scene i thought, before then i don't even think they knew about that was going down.

and yeah, how terrible would it be in the army if Dyke was your c.o.
