THIS COMING SATURDAY DEC. 3rd, WE WILL BE HOSTING THE "ROYALTY OF THE RAILS & LORDS OF THE LEDGE" BOX AND RAIL CONTEST. INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLINE LATE THIS AFTERNOON. this is from the website. i am pritty stoked about it.

 
I know they are really tough, but i was thinking about doing a beginner hip slide to switch out on one of their boxes.
 
If manning doesn't open this weekend, I'll be there making a fool of myself. Are they using the park under...that one chair...haha.. as opposed to the rail garden at the top of...that other chair?

yeah, I'm not too familiar with my baker geography...
 
You might be able to. I heard they were gonna put it at the bottom of 7 so that people who dont ski or snowboard could come watch. Chair 7 is the chair right next to the lower lodge.
 
FORMAT:

• Jam format 20-40 min heats depending on size of category

• Pros will be battling for the Crown of the Rail and Ca$h

• Ams will be battling for the Crown of the Box and prizes

• Jester Award given to Best Trick

• The Super Grom award to the next up-and-comin King (Under 16)

• Helmets & a lift ticket are required.

• Categories: Ski, Snowboard, Open, Am, and gender

(must be at least 5 competitors to make a category)

REGISTRATION:

• HELMETS REQUIRED: Release MUST be signed, under 18 must have parent signature

• REGISTRATION: Available online here Tuesday Nov. 29 through Friday Dec 2 at noon. Day-of entry is dependent on spots available. All pre-registered competitors, and day-of entrants are required to check-in at registration 8:00 - 8:45 in the White Salmon Day Lodge.

ENTRY FEE:

• $ 15 US For Open

• $ 10 US for Am

• Discounted lift ticket: $30 for entered competitors
 
possibly. depends on how the head feels, dont feel like competing with an ongoing headache

I heard they were gonna have this every saturday...or every other saturday. But the best part is that they are building a wall. It was be just like the ones a Mammoth or Whistler but way smaller (like 6 or 8 feet or something).
 
that sucks that the ams can't do rails i wonder how good the pros will be. does anyone know what they are entering as?
 
hmm.....when it says under 16, does that actually mean 15 and under? im assuming it does, but usually when people list the divisions, they'll put like 16 and under, or 15 and under, not under 16...

and im not sure which catagory im entering, most likely amature, considering im not pro, and im not "under 16", i am 16... that confuses me, ahhh
 
yeah haha, what the hell, ams can't hit rails, and pros cant hit boxes, that doesnt sound right. that would be ridiculous.
 
If I can get the day off I will come and battle for the crown. Rumor has it A.J. Burton will be there... uh oh
 
they say thers 5 categories but do they really mean that first you choose... Ski or Snowboard....then you choose open or am

then you choose your gender?

so i would be lek Ski Open Male
 
^ well that's not really making a clear decision, now is it? more so the best of both worlds... except actually the worst of both worlds...
 
By the way they worded it, it sounds like there is going to be a

Ski division

Snowboard division

Open division (skiers and snowboarder?)

Am division (skiers and snoboarders?)

and probably a womens ski and snowboard division
 
i think it's stuipd that if you do the open you have to do what it says. like the rail or wahtever. they should have a couple different rails and where you can choose which to hit
 
i talked to a guy today about it and it sounded like the only rail is gunna be a rainbow rail to. witch is kinda gay cause you can't do that many tricks on a rainbow rail .

that would be incredibly lame.

yea if i dont hear otherwise theres no way im driving that far, paying money, missing freshies, to hit a rainbow rail
 
Soo when you go to register you don't choose between skier or snowboarder, you just choose open or am. are they trying to run skiers with the snowboarders? cuz that shit just doesn't work.
 
sooo much powder, i can't value any person who competes in this comp instead of shredding the gnar. today was freaking amazing. so amazing, that i would never step foot/ski in a park again in exchange for the chance to relive it.
 
yeah tobad it's gunna be amazingly busy on saturday and all the powder will be gone in like two hours. not to be negative. But yeah today was sick and so will friday..and i am still doin the comp.
