So im getting into backcountry this season, got my tranceiver, probe,

shovel, etc. signed up for some courses but am looking for some people

to ski with out of bounds ... If anyone on here skis baker backcountry

once in a while or on the regular it would be awesome if i could tag

along ... hopefully someone more experienced than myself that i could

learn a few things from. I wont do anything stupid and am a decent

enough skier to keep up. Even if there is any people on here who could

giive me a few pointers on a lift ride that would be cool.

I ride in the bc every once in a while, but probably not enough to guide anyone. I would reccomend riding down the elbow, and some of the short runs just outside the blueberry gate

No i dont have any at gear at the moment, i am hoping to pick up a touring setup sometime in the near future but have little money due to picking up alot of other skiing stuff aswell as skiing all over the place, any thoughts on the duke bindings?

like i said if anyone wants to just take a few rides up the lift and ski a few runs and drop some info that is cool not expecting much ^

what is a good touring binding ?

That being said, if you come to Baker we can show you some good inbound stuff, and maybe you could bring a partner for the backcountry...

I'm just saying I doubt anyone serious would be willing to go backcountry with someone they haven't met.

Take a class, look at the NWAC report, be smart, exit the gate and ski some backcountry. you can always talk to the patrolers up at chair 8 for navagation advice.
