Baker is still an over-rated rain gutter for ingrown hippy delinquents who are only capable of whining about the man keeping them down and organizing large scale carbon emmiting burn sessions where they discuss safety or something along those lines.
People should go to Utah where the Mormans and an over argo local keep everyone in check, with plenty of snow so dry it would fetch top dollar in the Chicago projekts. Werd!

the liberals, hippies and hipsters
Mostly the fact that skiing is so far away.
It's funny because Baker is everything I expected plus more: some of the sickest pow skiing I've ever had (including AK), and one of the best resorts I've ever skied (next to Jackson). But getting straight A's in school is much harder when I have to wake up at 5 a.m. and devote the entire weekend to skiing if I want to get any turns in. Not to mention the odd phenomenon where the sunny pow days only occur during finals.
I'm mainly moving to SLC for one reason: frequency. The skiing isn't nearly as good, but what good is the worlds best pow when I can't even ride it? Brighton is 20 minutes away from college campus down there, and passes are dirt cheap. Plus they have a really good business program from what I hear.

I agree with the first, but "hippy and "hipster" are thrown around all too much.
We have trustafarians, not hippies. "Hippies" live in the woods off subsistence fishing/hunting. "Trustafarians" bitch about the "corporations, man" and talk down upon us sheep from their imaginary high horse while driving their subaru to college classes and smoking weed, all of which their parents pay for. They also have dreadlocks. I'll be damned if white people don't look fucking retarded with dreadlocks.
Sure, hipsters exist here. But they're rare in my experiences. After living in Hawthorne, Portland (hipster capital of the world), it's hard to call the trendy people here "hipsters." It seems nowadays the word "hipster" has become a euphemism for "nicely dressed college-aged liberal," which isn't exactly the same thing.
The whole red v blue state thing is odd though. In Alaska the conservatives are gun-toting anti-abortion Christians who want gay people hanged. In Oregon the liberals are a bunch of whiny pussies that complain about everything. Whatever happened to the sensible middle ground?
