Baggy tech shell jacket?

Moving to van next winter, so I need a more waterproof jacket than the one I'm using right now in dry Alberta.

However, I don't want to look like some granola munching tele and I'm a massive dood (6'4, 235) so I need it to be LARGE, extremely so.

I would prefer to stay on the cheaper side of the spectrum too, so don't recommend some 600 dollar arteryx.

Maybe cheack out the abma cadra jacket from salomon. Its 20/20k so not bad in terms of tech. Its on the larger side and does go to 2xl.

But if your after goretex unforunatly its going to cost you quite a bit. But with the rain we have here worth every penny

well gortex is about 26k so its around 25% more water proof, but genrally unless you plan on being out in the back country for a few days at a time, 20/20 will be fine.

The JP Retallack Co-Lab jacket is definitely a taller jacket than most I've encountered.

For the record, I'm more into practical/functional outerwear than style, so I can't comment on fit compared to Saga, FD, insert trendy outerwear company here...but the JP jacket fits me and works damn well.

Here are a couple ideas.

I have the older version of this jacket and it worked pretty well for me.

Oakley and Goretex for $200 aint a bad deal at all. It's on sale for just a bit longer though.

If you want something that looks like more of a park skiers jacket, this is 20k and XXL Oakley stuff would probably be perfect. It's not gonna be up to par with the first two options, but it will be better than most stuff in that style.

I have this and I love it. It's plenty baggy for me, and I bet you might be able to work with one of the larger sizes. It is waterproof as hell and easily the toughest jacket I've ever touched.

also look into this:

Salomon makes some massive sizes on their tech shells (4XL!!!), but I've owned several pieces of their outerwear and never been that impressed.

tall fit armada (regular probably wouldnt be long enough)

saga

first drop (not great quality though)

lethal descent

^^Unless there is something really new for 2013, Armada does not make tall fit tech shells. If they do drop a tall jacket in their goretex line, it is going to cost a lot.

And NET3K stuff looks pretty good as well. It's made with love in Washington, and you can get it made to fit exactly how you want.

Not meaning to bring this thread back just thought maybe the narrona roldal range may be worth a look into, they've labelled it as urban inspired freeride. I have never seen these in person but they are definitely worth a look into
