Badlands...why so gay?

honestly. the park is awful and its almost febuary. the pipe is over vert in some places, the first jump is a complete joke, the last jumps landing is sketch as hell, and half the park isnt even skiable yet.

whats going on here?
 
I think that last jump is pretty money actually, but yea, they could have alot more stuff (rails) in right now. I haven't skied the pipe yet, but I'm pretty content with the jumps so far.
 
pipe has just been cut, last jump is money, first jump is just small...

cant blame them as much as you can blame the weather. the setup although small has a lot of options and is fun

give them some time!
 
have you got any idea what it takes to build features the size of the ones blue usually has? with the season as it's been, you should be happy you're skiing period!!

and blue's park is decent given the circumstances

 
Everyone has been having a shitty winter and other hills have a ton of shit up. Thats no excuse now.
 
the problem is that they should have put a pre season park somewhere else other then badlands. this way they could blow huge amounts of snow then build a sick park at once instead of working around other features. blue park is disappointing and i hope they step it up.
 
i agree the first jump is really gay its different every day, the amount of speed u need to clear the table is different every day, 1 week ago it was nice you could have started slightly below the first rail to hit it good, but i did that a few days ago and i cased it as did ALOT of ppl when i was riding the lift it was fun to see alot of ppl casing it like they would land in flat part then go off the litttle small lip after table and case it again LOL
 
well that's blue for ya!!

if you're frustrated now, you should have been one of us bikers all summer long. took them over 2 months to get Showcase (trail in trees to right of silver bullet six pack) open after the norco festival.

they kind of remind me of the leafs; everyone will ski there and give their money no matter how shitty they perform.
 
no i swear they do i. two weekends ago when i was hitting all three jumps in a row and only had to speed cheak for the second one. but when i came last week i overshot the last one by soo much and i killed my shins and knees
 
the badlands are getting there, any truely the only gay thing about them is the fact that you need a pass to get in
 
blue is getting better, they just need to nuke it with snow this week and a couple of builds will go on. there was a bit of a lack of a plan and some questionable ideas but give it time, they are basically 2 weeks into their season
 
my shins are so fucken sore i can't fucken walk it hurts to move because if u go just a tiny bit too fast on the last jump u fucken over shoot, its so gay. But i had fun on the rails. The S Box is really nice and the K2 I-Beam is really smooth and once they get the K2 rail from last year in after the down flat there will be a really nice big rail line.
 
look at blue on any given day and the are blowing snow. they should have been more organized to set up a pre season park somewhere else and then should have built a sick park first try.

thats so true about a lack of a plan, if they had a plan personally i think that the park would be better, but who knows they may have a plan. the think i dont like about the park is that there is the flat down box which is really small and also the reall small jump which is on the skiiers right, so now we get lots of reaslly shitty kids riding on the skiiers right and they get in the way. Thats what i liked about last year, they had lots of the small stuff on the skiiers left and bigger stuff on the skiiers right.
 
not really i can only think of 2, but 2 weeks ago there was a full line of small stuff, so u got alot of people cutting through tor out of the jump line, which results in people getting snaked
 
i dunno but i think there are alot of useless small ones, i think they should put up regulare size rails and rails like a bit bigger then the martha
 
finally someone agrees with me and i think they made the landings better so u dont over shoot now and i think they also have that big rail line up. i am not sure but i will find out tomorow
 
they re-built the landing on the second last jumps.

the rail line is sweeeeeet, the setup could use a little tweaking.

i dont know why they took down the PB rail jam set up, that shit was baller
 
i think what they are planning to do (make decks wider and put big rails beside the jumps) is better than what they had before (under the chair)
 
i hated the rail line under the chair. there was nothing longer than 15' except for the i beam and not one rail had a kink. of the 7 rails under the chair the only good ones were the i beam, up rail, and the 15' down was kind of fun. maybe i just got really bored of it because thats all i was hitting the entire day cause they closed the entire right side of the park to do work on it but they didnt do one single thing when i was there on friday.
 
that sucks that the right side wasnt open on friday but i really liked the rail line but after a whole day of just hitting that i admit i would be fucken bored
 
wow badlands must be the cool park name cus i have a mountain 20 minuets from me that has a badlands park
