hey, bring back that puddle right after the rail right near the hut. you know the one that was there for the free ski cert. if you put it in i will be there skiing it! also, get lots of snow in the park so there will be some sweet ass spring skiing-like in may!
s there on thursday the 12. the jumps were so amazing! me and my friends were hitting them all morning, we went away for a while, and when we came back some fucking snowboarder closed them because they were too kicky. fuck him. they were amazing jumps.
Also, the halfpipe was the best it has ever been in a long time. it was vert almost the whole way down on both sides, the skiers right wall was all snow. we were the first people to hit it and it was amazing.
keep up the good work blue. and what ever happened to the canoe rail? (12ft. black rail) it was so nice.
I wanna see some pics. Hey yellowpants r u the guy who works at corbretts? But for real i wanna see some pics of the park, i saw some and they looked really good, but if u guys r still working on it put some pics up. I'd love to see em.
the guy that works at corbetts ns name is almost... but if u want the best service go visit sporting life matt bergey is the man! the park was preety sick this weekend i think the jump at the bottom a jump just slightly larger needs to be made... right now its like small HUGE small... something like small HUGE median would be better... the one on the far right is bigger but it just needs to be set back a little, and have a little less kick... iam not complaining cause i love everything... but that could be the next step... and lets get an up slant rail with a big landing.... preety please
ya I figured hells half acre would be open but when I got 2 the top of it nothing was there...where did it go? also I didnt go through the Yahoo park because it was closed for boardercross so I didnt get to see if there was an intermediate/beginner park.
doug, the park is soo sick...all i ask for is the wallride (preferably beside the pipe).
PLEASE!

Wallride has gone in on a good deck. Putting it on the pipe will affect our pipe grooming, so something like that will get done closer to the end of the year.
The big jump is epic right now, at 55' it's big enough to do lots of tricks on. This sunday was almost like watching an unofficial big air demo.
And there's smooth smaller jumps everywhere now. Bottom deck has excellent jumps for learning to spin 5's and 7's on.
There's also some new box-style features getting constructed, but you didn't hear it from me.

A true ¼ pipe AND spline would allow for tonnes of creative freedom. You always build the spline and tear it down the next day. ??? There are many ways to get funky on side walls but I've never actually seen a true ¼ pipe @ Blue.
I really want to build a HUGE quarter pipe. We may try to do it in the spring when it can be BIG and GOOD.
All kinds of different snow features will happen, now that we've got a lot of the stuff more dialed in, it will give us a bit of a chance to have some fun with the snow.
step up!... the wall ride has been a tough feature to maintain... i think something creative should be made of it... like a litteral box jump... use the thing as the take off, where u can do like butter tricks, and start spinnin b4 u leave the jump! i think it would make ur lives easier cause the wall ride has looked more like a time eater then a feature...
and our season is slowly winding down...i say we get that quarter pipe in soon.

their are only a couple more weekends left... i would like to see blue make something wild, and crazy.... maybe some rails gap rails, flip around the s!.... maybe even throw the s on like a really big slant, or make a rail combo like all the flat bars right behind each other so it makes like a 120 foot rail or something insnae.... snow will soon get limited, and already is so make it memorable!
we don't need that big puddle back that we had for the freeski cert. that puddle was almost as brutal as the aluminum rail! a spine would be nice for friday night when i get there
Iver been to Killington, Holiday Valley, and sunshine village this year and i think Badlnads has to be the best park i have been in. (this year). I am from hamilton and drive to blue three times a week at like 5 oclock after work just to spend three hours in the thing......blazers a killer on gas.
I would love to see a Quarter pipe, but don;t know how you would be able to control the traffic. Im thinking though!!
I have huge desire for the quarterpipe.... but we are too short on snow, without plowing down some of the bigger jumps, which we want to stay for a bit.
But you should try the spine jump at the top... When it's soft again, the takeoff will be hand-cut into an undervert quarter. So it'll take a bit of height to clear the 5 foot deck.
Did anybody try the learning curve? 'Hairy wishbone' as it was being called on friday.
i havent been to blue this year, but i just got back from banff, and in lake louise they put the quarter far off to the right side of the park, but before u get to the hits, that way, those who want to ride the quarter can hit it, and then be able to move back into the main park so their aint a traffic jam or collisions, i know it would be hard with the snow shortage, but just a sugestion.
I was their for the 'hairy wish bone' that was a pretty sweet set up at the bottom of Happy. I also saw that guy do a barrel roll right onto the guy who fell before him..........that had to hurt.
At the end of the day the park is mangled...off one of the boxes the landing was justdirt...gotta try to pimp out more snow. Maybe you should also bring that stair set actually down into the park.
i liked the park all this season i just wish they could expand it a bit and add some new stuff like one of those crazy rainbow boxs few more jumps and maybe a bigger wallride shit i know over a 500 people who would love a big wallride... well not huge like whistler or sump but bigger then what we have
the badlands is my favourite place in the world and the guys who build it rock
oh and Shane_McWannabe some people who are amazing on some things like pipe or jumps can't do rails for shit but y should they have to leave to learn how to do em the to beginner rails in the corner is fine i can't see how it takes up any room and people love boxs even pros ride plain old boxs they also some what help your skils on the rails...
what i think they should have is almost like a test to get in so tehre arn't people who totaly suck in there like the kind who just go in there and ski around everything or can't do anything what so ever and an age limit i saw a friggin 5 year old in there once who was skiing around and going up jumps and stuff but couldn't get all the way up so he would just fall over and wait for his mommy to come and pick him up all the while blocking the jump
a test eh, thats a novelty idea. i want to see the middle table and the spine that was there for triple challenge again next year, that middle table was so smooth. keep it up.
personally, i think we only need one half pipe in badlands since we have another lost on the hill somewhere ...
but i think we could make better use of the area ...of the 'halfpipe-behind the trees' ... putting a few jump in there would be sweet and then having a huge 1/4 pipe right at the end... having jumps in trees would be so sick and would make some good shots
make two parks...one advanced (Badlands) and another beginner....keep your ski school kids to the beginner park, unless it's a freeride program. Have the groomers focus on one halfpipe only, making that perfect. Don't make the rails so knarly. Only a handful of people can actually do them...save the big shit for the comps. Make sure there is good progression....other than that, location was good...maybe keep a couple features closed throughout the day and save them for night skiing so they aren't rutted to shit...or bring a cat to do a touchup around 3ish or something. Temps are cold enough there the park would set up in less than 45mins.
