Bad Weather- A Warning

I'll start this out with a story, then a message to everyone.

Today I was driving home from work, and it was raining. Not too hard, put it was coming down ok. Plus its fall so leaves are everywhere. I was driving just as fast/carefully as I would in clear dry weather. Well, as I was approaching a left and turn I went into the turn doing about 45 km / h or 30 mi. As I turn the wheel I realize my car is only turning a little bit and I'm headed right for the curb. So I slam on the brakes, and they lock up and I can't stop. I slam right into the curb and here a loud crunch. (By the way I'm driving a pretty low car so at this point I'm worried about my bumper.) I get out and my bumper JUST cleared the curb (fewf), but I knew what was next. My underglow tube is lying on the ground smashed into little peices. So rattled as hell I get back in my car and drive away.

The message: Winter is coming up, and don't underestimate the rain and snow. Drive safe NS.
 
i dont understand unnessesary dangrous driving. does it make you cooler if you put others lives in jepordy?

how the hell was it dangerous? I just pulled away from a stop sign a little down the road and I didnt even go over the speed limit. Go eat a dick you fag.
 
Its not riced. Its a very clean car. But everyone is entitiled to their opinion. Hell, half the people that called my car riced in this thread probly aren't old enough to drive anyway.
 
AHAHAHAHA you guys are dumb. The Stealth was manufactured by Mitsubishi in Japan. Its a fully imported car. You have no idea what your talking about.

But anyway if you want to see my car (I don't know why that matters) but here it is.)

Ya man i know exactly what your talking about. today in my jeep wrangler i came around a turn a bit fast and there was a lot of leaves ont he ground. the back of the scar swearved out but it kept in the turn so i was alright. scary shit though
 
Dude...neon lights are uber gay. Rice or kraut or spickup truck or whatever you want to call it all mainly refer to modding your car or truck with loud, bright, obnoxious, non-performance, non-comfort and non-useful cheap stuff. Neon lights do not make your car faster, handle better, more comfortable, and nor does it help you stop and turn for a corner before hitting the curb. It just cheapens the look. You have a good setup...black on black. why ruin it?

And your tires must be bald as fuck. Also, just for your future reference. You drive a rear wheel drive car, it should oversteer not under. you were in a corner where your car was understeering. Locking the breaks was the worste thing to do. You should have stabbed the break momentarily with your left foot to unweight the rear and gave some gas...that would have brought your rear end around and you might have made the corner.

 
haha I'm about to tear this post apart. Bit by bit.

1) Fine, neon lights are riced, everyone has their own opinion.

2) WAIT !?!! THEY DONT MAKE MY CAR GO FASTER !?! OMG !!!! What about a new wheel and tire set? Does that make my car perform better? No (With few exceptions). It Doesn't. But it LOOKS good. I bought the lights to dress up the car a bit at night thats all.

3) My tires are brand new with less than 2,000 miles on them. Its just that their sport tires so they don't grip as well in bad weather.

4) I DONT drive a RWD car. Nice try though man. Its FWD (unfortunately). So don't tell me howq to drift around a corner.

Why would Mitsubishi make a car for Dodge? lol. I guess I wouldn't mind spending all the extra cash to ship them to the U.S.
 
You should find out all the other "American" cars that are manufactured by Japanese companies. They're doing us a favor because our cars are inefficient, unreliable, and poorly engineered with very few exceptions.
 
hahaha its great to get imput from another car cult member. Someone who actually knows what their talking about.

Stealth, Avenger, Talon the list goes on and on. Even my dads old chevrolet celebrity had a Mitsubishi engine in the damn thing.
 
no but ive driven cautiosly and still hydroplaned going around a turn. its scary shit that you cant help sometimes
 
I wouldn't make that generalization. There are a few car companies that never seem to have any major problems, and then there's some that have problems with everything. I was just trying to point out that Japanese cars are generally designed much better than anything domestic.

what do you drive?

And to answer the other question about how much underglow costs. I'm looking at $100-300 for a new kit. I don't think I can just replace one tube.
 
yea iv been in that kinda situation befor but that was when I was learning to drift, consider yourself lucky. Iv completly dstroyed a $600 front bumper
 
I have a 06 Chevy Silverado, and the features of the car depends on how much you pay for it

Your an idiot. Unless you buy a heavier rim set and shittier compound tire than stock...a wheel and tire set most definitely makes your car faster. This further proves that you have no idea what you are talking about. I'm guess the only thing you equate with "speed" is straight line. But even still, if your "wheel and tire set" are lighter than your stock set than you have a significant reduction in "rotational mass". The amount of rotational mass is directly influencing the amount of power going to your wheels and essentially the ground. Grippier tires speak for themselves...faster in all respects, forward, stopping and cornering.

Contrary to your beleif the lights do not "dress the car up a bit". They look like ass.

shit 2 nights ago it snowed for the first time around here just for about 30 mins and enough to cover the roads in 10. My Dad and I went out out get our food we ordered and on the way there were 3 cars in the ditch within 1000 feet from each other. People need to learn to handle the conditions.
