Bad sports days??

I was wondering how many of you guys( well i think everyone has them) have just those days where you cant do anything right, and get so fustrated you just want to call it quits? I get them alot in sports, like i will have days where ill just be like "fuck lacrosse, i suck at it and i dont want to play anymore" just because i had a bad day or 2. Yes i know i have bad self-esteem but thats just who i am, i expect alot out of myself and am really hard on my self when i dont reach my expectations.

Today for example i was out a some 3 foot jump i built, and i couldnt land anything!! even the really simple stuff i would just fuck up on and i would get really pissed, i wasnt even landing 180 saftey grabs( yes you can laugh)

Another time was in september when i went and tried out for my high school football team. It was my first time ever playing tackle football. I didnt have alot going for me, being 5'2" 107lbs, i only had speed and good balance. It was about the 5th practice and i had an absolutely shit practice and in the change room i was just like "Screw this im too short ill never make it , blah blah blah" but my friend forced me to stya so i did. I then ended up making the first and second cuts and making the team in as a starting cornewr back, and on kick-off cover and field goal.

well im not sure why im making this thread, probally just to vent my anger( i just got back from the jump and am still frustrated) and i shouldnt reallyl be getting that mad because im a beginner.

share your stories i guess.

happens to me when I run sometimes. (not on a team, just at home but I go pretty hard.) some days I just feel like shit and I have to stop after 2 miles and I'm all pissed off about it.

Yeah definitely. Everybody has these days, and in football is where I actually had the most of em. They happened at least once a month during practice and one game I was just not in it mentally. It's just a mental thing. When I was having one bad practice I was super pissed off and then just started thinking of random shit other than football, like the color of the trees and noticing simple subtle stuff that would take my mind off the game for a second, and then boom I was back scoring tdz like it was nobodys business. Same with skiing, just get into a good mood, and everything will be ok. Frustration is the enemy.

yeah that happens to me too. our coach is always talking about mental toughness and thats one of the reasons why - slumps happen to everybody

yeah man in football this year i was like 4-15 passing and i was just making dumbass decisions and like was on the 10 then tried to underhand it to a teamate while being tackled then we got the ball on the five and had to unt. then the next pssesion with us down by 7 and a minute left i threw a pick. it was gay i didnt talk to anyone for like 2 days.

fuck man i had that the other day, i wanted to keep going but my body just decided to say no and be a stupidhead

I had one a couple days on Loveland Pass. I hit a tree and then later on during the same run fucked up my back and ribs. I felt like quitting skiing and that i sucked. I took a couple days off and now I am fine.

oh man i fell into a slump like that at the bar the other night playing beer pong. i was gettin creamed and just kept playing game after game tryin to get my groove back, gettin drunker and angier with every round. worst night ever

last sunday i was hittin this lil flat bar(like 20ft) and out of no where, i totally ate shit. i was so fucking pissed i would have been fine never skiing again.

yea i have those days where you go up with all your freinds and screw everything up...it suks....even in lacrosse and crosscountry i screw up and look down on myself...it suxs....but then you have those days were you stomp all your landings..those are the best days

it usually only happens when i cant land tech tricks that i know i can do and all my homies are landing them but i cant...  sometimes you just have good days and others you have bad.

I def have some bad days skiing. I just wont be feeling it or something and the best thing to do is take a break/try something else. Go shred a couple groomer laps or try easier tricks you can do to get back in the groove, it helps alot.

hey i do lacrosse and croxxcountry also! well crossscountry running, im not sure if your talking skiing.

i have those days skiing sometimes, but mostly in soccer.

i really like hated my team sometimes. just they wouldn't listen to my coach sometimes and shit, and i was the youngest one to start and i would get criticized for every little thing i did wrong. when the older kids would fuck up 10x worse, and no one would say anything. so i pretty much quit trying in games and practice and didn't start. i actually thought it was funny, cause if i tried i would fucking kill it and then someone would say something and i would just basically quit. i can't wait for this year though cause 9 of those kids won't be back, thankfully.
