I usually make it out west a couple time a year. I want a ski that I can ski every day when im out west, whether theres a lot of pow or just skiing trees in some spring snow. will it be to fat for groomers and trees, and will the sidecut allow for all mountain, all terrian skiing? any thoughts???

they seem like they should be good with the 19m turn radius prob not too good in the bumps

i think i am getting them for next year

they're sick. i skied them for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and i was blown away. they rip on groomers and are so fun in pow. super quick turning too. obviously it won't rip groomers like a skinny park ski, but it's surprisingly versatile.

i think you should get them

you dont go out west to ski groomers in the first place, so you'd want more pow peformance vs. groomer performance any day.

pollard considers the elizabeth and the bacon more of all mountain skis rather than pow specific anyway.

get them if you are used to skiing a wider ski

if you have only skied skinny park skis all your life

i wouldnt get something so wide, maybe like a Scratch BC or some ARVs

but if you are used to a huge fat ski get them for sure

my friend has a pair and he loves them

yea im pretty sure im going for em, just needed a little reassurence that i could ski them on those not so great days whe the temp goes up and the snow aint that great. thanks guys.

Once you go fat, you don't go back...  These will carve on groomers, ride switch, whatever.  A perfect everyday ski out west IMO.  I mean, some people ski ANT's as an everyday ski, but I prefer something that can be thrown around and played with like the Bacon.  not the best park ski, but who needs the park out west anyway??

here's the way I look at it:

I bought some 189 made'ns this year. They are sick, but after putting 20 or so days on them, they already feel small. When I put on my park skis (which are still "fat" at 92 underfoot), I am afraid for my life, cause they feel so damn small. I am buying new skis that are 115 undefoot, basically just like the SFBs. I think that basically, you will get used to any ski that you ski on.

If you ask Eric Pollard, he will say that it's stupid to ever ski any ski that's skinnier than the sole of your shoes, which makes sense. Remember, he's about 5'10, and he skis on Elizabeths that are somewheres around 130 underfoot as his park ski.

I love mine, you will love yours...plus they are so sexy.

I rode some Prior dough boys or somtin, there like 105 at the waist and i was doing moguls like a crazy good mogul skier

i love how everyone from the east seems to think that the west has infinite amounts of snow. i havent explored bc much but whistler has its fair share of icy/hardpack days. bacons would be super fun on a deep pow day but im sure the lizzies would work too + be better all mtn
