Backyard snow forts

So with the additional 2ft we received last night, I added onto my snow forts a little.
Pre-snowstorm

Now:I didn't put the roof on the main room yet. I was too tired tonight. Snow parties are going onto a new level. The pictures go in order of walking in, turning to the right and then looking into the entrance of the main room, if you can follow it.

Pictures don't do justice to the room with the 2x4's over it. When a roof is placed over it, 7 lawnchairs fit in it comfortably and with the lowest point of the ceiling being 5ft, the highest 8ft.

impressive. igloos in giant snow banks are where it's at. Used to create elaborate tunnels through the piles the snowplows put at every intersection with my buddies. Was always hilarious when an unknowing plow driver hit it, and this 15ft wall of snow collapsed in on itself due to tunnels.

in retrospect, we're pretty damn lucky that they never collapsed in on us.

these days i devote my shoveling time to building snowmen on my brother's car, which inadvertently makes it easier for him to clear the snow off.
