Does anyone have a backyard rail or know how to make one? I want to make one but i don't know how to support the rail.

Skiing rocks my world.

Use 4x4s to make the base then get some PVC and use a Rhino bit to drill then screw in some screws so you don't catch yourself. Then place outside and add snow

use 2by4 s and just make pieces make a down piece and an up piece and a flat piece that screw together that way you can make a ton of different rails also put legs every couple feet and put cross pieces off the bottom so it doesnt tip over other than that just build if it doesnt work add more supports

 
take 3ft long 2x4's about four of um or more depending on how long your rail is. then screw the 2x4's into the pipe. then take 3 foot 3x6's and lay them flat then screw the 2x4's into the 3x6's. or you could use your head and thik up sumtin

 
screw what everyone said. go to your local welder and get a 16' flat bar made for like $100 it is much better than spending $50 on materials for something is is homemade and kina good. get it professionally made, it is uber-progressive.

I live in a place far far away, where on occasion the telly tubbies will come to play....and that's when Ma gets out the shotgun. Damn critters climb in our gutter system all the time.
 
to bsmith01 if you go to menards you can buy a 8 ft section of pipe for under $10 that if you put grind wax on will slide fine

 
yeah i got a 20 ft flat bar made for $150 and it is so damn awesome

really easy just get a like 4 or 8 inch piece of strong wood that however long u want it and then put anything on top of it that will slide i used fake hard wood flooring it slide really well then get some really thick things of wood and put them under the wood to support it and at the bottom of those put wide feet on it (2 by 4) so it wont move and then coming off of the supports goin to the feet put a 2 by 4 on each side which will stop it from moving worked for me it was lots of fun hope this could help

I have a double barrel PVC trap. rail. PVC is really cheap, about $1 for a 10' section of 1.25 in pipe. Get a 2x4 and basiacally glue the pvc to the 2x4 and screw in both of the ends to it. Build a support column at each end of the flat part, and one in the middle. Look at the pics in my profile or message me if you need it more in detail. Cause it's really hard to explain.

my buddy is really into cars and fixes his own and happens to have a welder and blow torch and all sorts of shit. within the next month we're planning on making 3-4 10ft long flat bar rails that can connect without edge digging and whatnot.

moral: know a kid with a welder and a place with cheap metals.
