Backyard rail

Going to home depot in a little while to pick up some PVC piping to build a rail, what should I buy, I don't want it to be too big because then it will be hard to store. Thanks.

I wouldn't buy anything much shorter than 8ft unless you plan on putting multiple shorter rails together. As far as the width goes, buy whatever looks fun or works with your plan. One mistake I made the first time I bought pvc was that the stuff I bought had super thin material and I ended up cracking the pvc the first time I hit it. If you are buying something with a diameter bigger than like 3" you shouldn't have to worry about the material thickness, but if its under that make sure that it is schedule 80. If its thinner you run the risk of cracking it if your edge hits it wrong.

home depot by me usually only has 3” pipes. get a 3” 10 ft and drill it to a 10 ft treated 2x4. u can also grab 2 2” pipes and fit them both onto a 2x4 so u have a flat rail

EDIT: for what it’s worth, building a single rail should only cost roughly 40 bucks, so u don’t HAVE to plan on storing it over the warm months, u could just build a new one next winter
