Backside of K-22

We skied the backside of Squaw behind K-22 and the cops and the owner of Alpine meadows and a bunch of ski patrol came and found us down on the road to Alpine Meadows... smooth talked our way out of being in big trouble but it could have been bad.I heard they usually arrest people. but It was epic pow and totally worth it.. Anyone else have this happen?
 
ya kt my bad... well no there were no ropes, but signs and we were just too tempted by the untracked fresh
 
you mean TGR doesnt hate us for sick rail skillz? (not that i have any) im using the inclusive us. hahaha

i maintain they are jealous.
 
And to the OP, stick to known areas from now on. There's a lot of reasons that land is closed and heavily monitored and un tracked despite hordes of us who stare at it every day wishing we were Troy.
 
Haha. I was wondering what those lift towers were doing just chilling there. I had thought that Squaw was expanding over to that side, which would be totally dope and basically make Squaw the world's dopest ski area, but now I know. Those towers have been there for a few years though, is h just waiting for the economy to go back up or doeshe need more money/permits?
 
dude put the towers in so he could sell passes that would connect alpine and squaw, but squaw got angry, and hired a bunch of lawyers to put the kybosh on those plans. If it ever happens, Squaw/Alpine would be sicker than Whistler/Blackcomb in my opinion. THat lift would make accessing estelle and the other alpine bowls even easier.
 
Awesome, I made that post before reading the article in that posted link, but I think that would be so crazy to link the resorts. I know Reno/Tahoe is going to bid on the 2022 games and if they was linked that would be so epic. It would be a lot like Whistler, just more dope terrain and in the US. Squaw is already pretty even with Jackson IMO, but this would put them a level above Jackson. I found it pretty crazy that the guy installed all the towers on his own with volunteer help. Dope idea and it seems like he bought that land so cheap.
 
I can't believe they didn't fine you idiots. But yes, I am jealous that you rode it. It's funny Troy mentions putting up a restaurant in place of the KT patrol shack, or on the back of McConkey's, Squaw would shit a brick.
 
ya i know it was a retarded move and we were lucky to not get in trouble and didnt really know it was that big of a deal... they told us that two guys died in an avalanche there not too long ago so ya that was a bad call on our part.
