I use a Dakine 'Heli-pro' i dont know if its a little big for what your looking for but it tightens down really small. It can hold a lot of stuff and the way it holds your skis is awesome.

 
dakine vertex is a little smaller than the heli pro but basically the same design, both are sweet

In B.C. they used to make 'Freetime' packs. I've had mine for about 8 years and it has probably 400+ days of trekking and skiing on it...no joke, and it's as good as the day I bought it. I'm sure you could find it online....but as the boyz here said DaKine packs are known to be some of the best.

i've got the vertex, it's sweet. same as the helipro but a little easier to sit on the chair with it on

i also have the vertex and i highly recommend it. also get the dakine bladder so you have water reservoir. very nice.
