wats with people who wear backpacks when they are on small hills, i mean wat do they keep in there. Its not like there is going to be an avalanche on a tiny groomed hill

Yeah, I also don't like them, like who's doing sick backcountry shit on these tiny hills. And the camelbacks, what are these guys too hardcore to stop for water?

i would say most of the time i have my food and shoes and maybe some gloves and a hat in there... i drop it at the lodge immediately, ski, then i eat lunch, and when i leave i go get my pack and ski back to the parking lot... maybe most people are like me and just pack lunches and shit in there ? who knows ;x

when im out west i use my camelback snobound which is a backcountry backpack really but u can drink water from it i get altitude sik real easy so i need water but i also cary some food my phone my little camera sun screen and an extra layer but when im at home in VT i nvr ski with it and nvr would unless im in some backcountry because my skis fit really nicely on my pack

yeah see thats reasonable... at my hill "big blue" i asked sum 10 year old what he had in his school bag he was riding with he told me lunch and a sweatshirt....i was like yeah u can put that in the lodge. theres no reason for that

i keep rope, beer, sometimes my shoes, and food if i brought it. i hate to stop skiing so ide rather eat and drink on the lifts or find a nice spot OB

You know what I dont understand? All those kids who dress like thugs. They're on a tiny little mountain, do they think gangsta's are going to pop up and shoot everyone except them because they look "ghetto"?

^somebody at my hill got arrested on mountain for carrying concealed weapons...so you never know.

As far as a backpack, i'd carry food / drink in mine if i didn't just ski over lunch breaks to avoid the crowds.

plus i like to ride with a backpack cause it feels like someones always hugging you as you go down the mountain

Colorado Backpacks.. I do a lot of off-piste skiing at Winter Park/Copper/Breckenridge/Crested Butte (Cliff drops). It's good to have a little bit of back protection for some gnarly landings.

I also volunteer as a patrol at Winter Park. So it's good to have all of my medical gear/shovel/probe.

So on my hill, where avalanches are prone to happen, I have my gear.

Also, I can carry a lunch, spare gloves, and I always carry spare goggles from a white-out incedent I had in which i hit a tree with my face, broke my goggles, and had to ski in a blizzard with nothing.

(p.s. I'm not a wanna-be-cop patroller, Don't yell at me... I only yell at people if they're being idiots. I'm really only into it for the medical experience and free skiing)

hahahaha. that's the best cuz they already know that they're gonna be doin the filming that day. that's funny that you said that. lol
