How many people on here backpack? I just got back from backpacking in Montana and then i went to climb Mt. Rainer in Washington. It's awsome and for all you people who are complaining about summer, backpacking is something that you can get off your ass and do.

Backpacking's fun. I went on a long ass hike yesterday with my skis to a snowfield and made some turns. Not quite backpacking, but as soon as the blisters on my heels heal, I'm going to go and camp at the base of a big glacier we saw and ski that too.

I love backpacking. I used to go alot with my brother's boyscout troop thingie when I was younger, now I just go with friends and family. The best hikes are the ones where you end up having to turn back after 7 miles in the rain because somebody has already taken the spot you were planning on stopping at. Heh.

Backpacking is awesome. Last summer I went on a backpacking/canoe trip in the adirondacks and it was so cool. Just chilling, paddling, and cooking freeze dried food. I wish I could backpack more but NJ isnt the backpacking capital of the world

i perfer doing backpacking trails nonstop... its pretty fun.... early in the morning to late night... its great specialy if the weathers good.

I go backpacking occassionally, usually I'm backpacking in order to get somewhere to climb...like in the Tetons...and a couple weeks ago I was backpacking in the Cloud Peak Wilderness in the Bighorn Mountains, WY...that was pretty sweet. But yeah, overall backpacking is fun...alot more fun if you're climbing though too!

Backbacking's great! Last summer my family and I went up to Alaska and did the Chilkoot trail. I don't know if anyone's heard of it but it's about a 4 day long hike that that goldminers took in the 1800's. It's really beautiful.

iliketoski are you gonna be hiking from rialto beach to shi shi beach? I've done that before its an amazing hike. Volklpro I was in the Italian Peaks its right along the continental divided so we switched back and forth alot but spent most of the time in Montana.

backpacking is awesome. and indeed, it is even more awesome when you backpack in to climb somewhere, which also means that climbing is awesome, yes
