Backflips

Today we got 42 cms of snow and had a snow day so we built a huge kicker and tried some backflips and everytime i did it my skis released right at the lip of the jump right when i started rotationg back and then i landed on my back...the din on my skis is at 7 and i weigh like 140-150 so what might i be doing wrong or should I just put the din even higher?

your slinging it, you have to bring it up and tuck it over instead of leaning back and slinging. The reason your skis are popping off is the force that is being put on your tails is tremendous, because yuor spinning so fast. Bring it up and tuck it over.

pop and tuck I assume you are just slinging it, which is personally my favorite way, I dunno crank your bindings up they shuoldnt be releasing

yeah your slinging it but a lot of people do iti that way so if that fees natural stick with it and just crank up your din

i have a question this is my first year tryin' flips and i can already do them on tramps easily and divingboards but its the fear that gets me, i can always be home and i'll be thinkin' about how i'd progress so much faster if iu could get a flip down, i just wanna know what flip is easier to start out wit', a frontflip or a backflip, cause once i no i can get the rotation for one of those i know i will have the courage to get the other down.

I think backflips feel way more natural than fronts, unless you are coming off a cliff that slopes downward. I mean all you really gotta do for a backflip off a jump is go off, pop a little and arch your back and start looking for your landing they come around so naturally.

yah, i thought so b/c on a trampoline after i learned how to land a backflip for like a couple days it was easier for me then a frontflip...;l i just wanted to make shure... tanx
