Backflips on park jumps

blown tuck rotations on a smaller jump will be less painful than blown layouts on a bigger one. huck it on a small jump first, then move up and lay out as you get consistent

i just sent my first backflips a couple of weeks ago out west on a side hit at wwpc i want to send it on a park jump, any tips?

Don't over think it. If you've already done it on a side hit you should be ready for a park jump. I would say start with around a 15 foot park jump or a 10 foot poppy one. Nothing huge but enough to where you can get the rotation around. Good luck!

All depends on person and comfort. Depends how other flips were. Id you laid them put its all good. Layed out is easier to land imo.

Ive dont backies off some sketchy small stuff but medium is a good size. You want it to be floaty not too huck not to hang time. If you still feel super scared hips can be good. Small hips you can clear or even decking out. The lips have a nice steep curve that can give you enough to flip without feeling big, and without much forward momentum.

I washed out first attempted and then landed 5 others in a row. This was on my 164 marksmans. I’m planning on sending them on my 183 Vishnu wets. I’m slightly concerned on how there gonna hold up if I’m backseat. Also will longer skis make it easier to stick tips?

A lot of people(myself included) tend to tuck and over rotate. It really depends on feel and comfort.

I would lay them out for days on tramps, could do them off picnic tables on feet etc. But i wasn't super good at forward gainer ish flips so it took me a bit to dial it in. Like 20 ish or maybe a lil bigger because enough to get it but even if youre tuck and huck club it aint bad. Biggest thing is stay safe, get em landed and repeat repeat repeat while you feel it. If you start crabking em and landing them do them every day. Even if your friends bitch that you to to many, fuck it. Get comfy when you're comfy. You could land the cleanest flip ever todsy not do it for a week snd be terrified to do it on the same jump. Stay up with it. Backflips are fun as fuck. Stay up with it man!
