Backflips on a trampo.

2 things help:

those turbo bungy things at theme parks

and if u have 2 friends flip ur legs out from under u while you are legitimately trying to do a backflip. this helps get the feel of it and eventually ull sack up

the exact same thing happened to me on my neighbors tramp i was doin a gainer backflip kinda thing and slipped and landed right on my neck. after that it felt realy unnatural doing backflips like i got all tensed up lol. but if you just force yourself to do the full rotation you get over the felling if you stick it a few times

I have the same problem. Back in Jr. High I learned backflips on the tramp and backflips on skis. I also during this time period somewhere learned gainer backflips on a diving board. One day in high school on the tramp I was learning a few new grabs with the backflip. I tried a laid out mute backflip like J.P. Auclair does on Global Storming, and i landed on my neck. I haven't done a backflip since. (except a tantrum on a wakeboard which I frequently do). It isn't like I am uncordinated or anything, I can misty 10 on the tramp, front, lincoln, bio, etc, but whenever it comes to backwards rotating stuff, (backflip, cork, or dspin), I just can't do it now. Now I have my brother trying to help me re-learn a backflip (5 years later), and it is really hard to get over that mental block. We just started re-learning them for me tonight, I can get the flip but I flip from one side of the tramp to the other, tomorrow I am going to work more on staying in one place. I will let you know what I learn. I agree, they are really scarry after landing on your neck, I am going to take it slow!

bahahaha even funnier than that kids video is a comment i found further down the page:

omg you are awesome this tottaly helped me i can do it now thanks (yes, for real)

i can land all the easy flips on a tramp no problem and off the dock too (about 2 1/2 feet above the water). i can backflip off the dock, but no gainer, i get to 90 and stall and land.

just go for it again, or like have someone throw a mat under you (if your doing it at a special tramp place) until you get comfotable again

ok my mom made me take gymnastics like seven years ago so i'm champ at these.

first just get a good jump rhythm and just pop up and throw your hands up striaght

then bring your knees to your chest and lean your head back a little. your momentum will bring you around no problem. it maight look funny at first but once you get the hang of the motion you can steeze them out anyway you want. and i promise i know my stuff on this one ask someone who works at a gym it's totally legit

Hahaha, backflips are such a right of passage. You either learn how to do with when you're like 13, or you just fail.

Try it off a diving board first, that's what i did. Hurts less if you land on your head.

Yeah, make sure you are looking all the way through, if you don't you will stop your rotation and land on your head...

ill give you the steps:

1.you have to let your balls drop low to da flo

2.bounce a couple times until your comfortable in the air

3.jump and land on your back to get use to a semi-flip

4.hands by your side

5.jump and lean back to do a flip

6.tuck in legs keep arms down

7.3/4 of the flip through extend your legs and prepare for landing

8.stick it

the first time i ever tried a backflip i landed right on my neck......still haven't tried one since

ya did it that way too

did my first backflip yesterday, once you do it, its soo easy. Haven't had a hugely bad landing yet though so i dunno. IMO, I think once you do it its easier than a ff. Once I started actually flipping, I landed on my feet 4th or 5th try.

Srry if this was a little run-on and doesn't make sense Im typing this while watching Orage Masters Replay
