Backflips, inverts

back flips are easier to do but often scarier to learn than fronts... my first invert was a front but i now know that backs are a lot easier and more fun.. so i guess id do a back first you just have to not be afraid and commit and youll be fine

for sure man , just give er.. Just commit.. keep looking behind you and spot your landing .. DO NOT LOOK OVER YOUR SHOLDER! you will go in to some sort of a cork spin and probobly eat shit ..

Good Luck

When i learnt backflips, they were easier than 3's Its only took me 2 tries and i had them for the season. so backflips are by far the easiest

and like freeskiing dude said all you need to do is give her. But if you gonna do it then make sure your not gonna chicken out half way. That really hurts lol.

i don't understand how you can get yourself to overcome that..how would you ride into the ramp? do you have to shift all of your weight farely quick to do the flip?

its all in the pop. When you pop off the lip you just throw your sholders back and look as far back as you can. Keep looking until you see your landing. Than sick it. Its really that easy.

you just ride in straight like your gonna do a straight air, then you bend your knees before you pop and i just said the rest from there.

it is nervewrecking as hell when you are cruising into the kicker to try a flip

you make it sound soo easy'~'... ya I wish I could pull one off...I wanna try that this season. I can't see it happening though!

i think an underflip would be the easist for me, casue i wanna be looking at the ground the whole time:P

I can't quite build up the confidense to do a backflip on a trampoline...I know I could do it, it's just the fear of landing on my neck that's got me..is it any easier to pull off on ski's? how big should the kicker be? the gap? and the tranny?

This year I really gotta try the backflip. I'm just like you man, afraid of the land (or crash)I just say to myself before a new trick, 'The ski patrols are near, my friends will get them, they'll get stoked and then they'll try' just say that to yourself and IT'S TRUE, they'll try it. Good luck this winter man!

If you don't have the confidence to do it on a tramp, ...uh... you might not want to attempt one on snow first (unless you're BC with a tun of fresh snow. A messed up landing on a tramp hurts a lot less than a messed up landing on the ground.

Of everyone here who can do backflips on skis....how many of you could do it on a tramp first?!

i did alot off my boat this summer but never did em on a tramp, i think itll be alright though as long as u get enough air and u keep lookin back

Me and my buddies all practiced a ton off a diving board, which has a similar element of fear the first few times you do it. Flipping on skis is the exact same feeling. Commit baby!

Lincoln is the way to learn. Its way easier, since youre always looking in the direction youre flying...

You might wanna try doing it on the tramp first though.

ya I've done backflips off diving boards into a pool a few time with no problem..but I always pull out half way into one on the tramp...I just feel like I'm gonna land on my head. I've done them before though a couple years back, but I can't re-gain that confidence now..

listen to music before the jump, it'll pump you up enough to get the adrenalin for the jump!!

I was really scared of doing them anywhere but in the summer i did them off a diving board and a few days ago me and my friends were jumping into leaves and doing stupid stuff and i did a back flip... it wasnt pretty and i landed on my stomach but it was cool, i just got pumped enough and got up the confidence and went for it

i can do backs off diving boards, but not gainers. as well, i can do backflips on tramps easy. but i somehow dont think i'll ever have the confidence to do one on snow unless theres a giant powder day, which there never is in ottawa...

'I heard that Richard Gere gerbils. That is, he inserts gerbils into a paper towel tube, which he then sticks up his butthole. I don't doubt this, because he asked me if i wanted to come over to his house and gerbil. I insisted that he come over to MY house, since the whole thing seemed weird. As a practical joke, i attached a bucket of water to the top of the door so that when he opened it, I beat him with a mannequin leg.'-Skydaddy

I learned to do backflips on trampolines by first jumping back so i land on my back and then flipped myself backwards on my feet from there. Then i started to try doing backflips and i was kinda doing a sideflip. After a little bit i was really pumped up because i was so close and i did it.Now i can do them on the trampoling without bouncing at all on it first. Just push off back and fly. It's awsome. I can now do fronts sides and backflips. Reading this post made me think of getting on a big snow mound this winter and doing frontflips and back flips on, without skis of course. Then after i get enough confidence to do them on the ground, ill try them skiing.

Land Shark EEEEE EEEEE EEEE

heres what i do......i head full speed to the jump, shut my eyes like 3 feet from the lip, and pretend theres a soccer ball right in front of me and i then try and kick it with both of my feet. it works every time and i mastered it my first try, so i think its pretty go idea

I dunno about closing your eyes. I would wanna keep them open so I can see the landing. Or at least see when I will crash.....

my back is still fucked up from fallin on an attempted backflip, frontflips are a sinch. even if backflips are easier frontflips are easier to learn because you dont have as much fear and hesitation and you are less likely to get hurt. 360s are easy 2 is u get enough air and can keep ur balance.
