has anyone else done this besides Jon Mccurmury? i was thinking it wouldnt be that extreamly hard and am considering doing it in the next few years but the one thing i can get over is how he stops? I would land on the rail and my balance would be all fucked up and fall back on the rail and like shatter my hip bone.

well.....doing a backflip 90 on a diving board isn't too hard......it's pretty much the same principal off a jump...you just need a lot more balls. in the new freeze there's a 'how-to' on it...he says to land next to the rail the first few times.

i dont think the hard part would be the backflip, infact im almost 100% sure that i could do that part right now, the only hard part is stoping the backwards motion on such a slipery surface, when we are learning to railslide we can harldy stop or selfs from falling back, and to step it up to the next level we are doing a full backwards rotaition with minimal amounts of air and landing on the rail.... progresion

I can't wait to see that shit! As for the trick the trick is fucking insane but that's not even the worst part, think about the potential for fucking yourself up trying that? Whether or not you're wearing a helmet (which he fucking better have been) you could easily die attempting that.

you'll want to slightly underrotate, even possibly land on your front foot first, then spread your legs as your back foot comes on the rail

i've consisderd too, if i only had rails.

the trick tip on how to Backflip to Rail in the new freeze is retarded. There's probably only a handful of pro's that can do it let alone amateurs reading the ski magazine.

you'd also think you'd slip back pretty easy doin backslides eh? all your weight on your back foot.... once u nail into it its just like a normal railslide probably... just takes the guts and the coordination.
