Hey

I just finished building a small kicker in my backyard for backflips.

It will be my first time doing backflips and I wanted to know if you think the jump looks ok and if you have any final tips on how to backflip (yes ive used the search bar and its helped)

Heres some pictures:

That would be good for backflipping a GT thats about it. But I would like to see the video of either.

thats a perfect jump. itll be so easy and you wont have to huck it a ton either, just enough.

Yah thats a pile of snow, so I won't break my neck.

Yah there is a in run, i'll need a tow into it tho because it isn't that big of a in run.

When you say I'll need to huck it, is that because the jump itself is small or it isn't straight up enough?

I am guessing that you have at least done some flips into a pool, or on a tramp and such.

If you have a solid air sense that jump will be plenty big to flip from.

dude thats fine for back flips. you dont realy need to sling it, just be patient and take it over and youll be fine. its easy to do backfllips in the moguls and that jump is alot bigger than a mogul jump so you will be fine

its not a difficult thing to do just scary, in my opinion, doing it off a descent sized jump the first time is very safe because there is almost no chance of under rotation

number one thing to remember is to POP...if you just lean back into the lip youll rotate to fast and whack your heada into the lip like some other people said. so pop and move your whole body together into the flip, not JUST your head you know? goodluck and smart idea with the pile of snow...its like a cool version of a foam pit.

how about trying it on a jump with a landing? That would be a good start, you might as well build that jump onto a road. that jump is so steep and so abrupt that even though you will undoubtably do a backflip it will be so fast and retarded that the skills you learn probably won't carry over into the park, (which I assume is where you want to toss them) go to a local rec center with build diviing boards and get your gainers dailed, then sack up and toss one of a real jump that you can float and spot, they are an extremly easy trick if you just stay calm on the inrun, air, and landing. I barley even pop on them anymore and just lean back and start looking back as far as I can, they come around. Just remember, in the air, the body follows the head.

But on the other hand if you just want to throw a backflip to tell people you know how to do backflips or put it in your profile, that jump will be perfect

Yah. I was thinking of trying one off of the end of a quarter at my hill where I've seen a guy pull a few already.

My next door neighbour has a trampoline in her house which i've backflipped on before. I wanna take some ankle weights and go do some soon before I try a black flip. I'll keep an update.

hennie knows whats up, no matter how many backflips you've done on a tramp, if you forget to pop, you will land on your head or chest.

on a tramp you are forced to jump to get air,so you naturally pop, on skis sometimes people forget and either end up looking like they sliped on a banana peel and huck it around,or they stall upside down so yes, POP

true but it doesnt mean ur gunna land safew though at all...but i agree with the under rotation idea i have never under rotated on a good size jump!! They are just fun as hell now in my opinion!

seriously just throw your head back and like throw your arms back too, and no matter what just keep looking backwards until you see the landing

Dude you've got like 3ft.+ of powder to land in. If you did land on your head you wouldn't even feel it. Just huck it.

pat waite and lil jon might be able to double back that and if i had chance i might try too if the landing is soft.....ha but seirously ur fine man thats insanely steep
