I can easily do it on a trampoline and want to bring it to snow. I can 5 and 7 but really want to progress. I just don't want to break my neck like half the people on youtube
It's all about having the right jump. Build something thats small-medium size with a ton of kick. And you HAVE to be willing to scare yourself. A super poppy jump will almost guarantee an over-rotation. Which is much easier to retry than an underrotation.
If the jump is built correctly, it will be easier to backflip that straight air.
approach the jump with a really wide stance, keeping your arms nice and low at your sides, about waist height. right when youre getting to the transition of the jump, use your dominant hand to get a nice firm grasp of your balls. then, huck a backflip.
kind of been stated in here, but commit commit commit. It's such an easy trick, it just seems scary. As long as you get a good solid pop and throw youll see the jump coming around before you know it. You're more likely to over rotate than under
A lot of people, when trying them for the first time on snow, just throw their head back. Good way to land upside down.
With skis on the flip comes from your hips and thighs... throw them up and forwards, follow the curve up your body then through your shoulders and head. You'll be around 270 degrees before you know what even happened.
And don't throw it too early and clip your head on the lip, seen that a few times
You want to backflip while on skis? Oh no! That would take a lot of courage! You have to do it smoothly, and don't pressure yourself. Practice slowly, do it like your standing on a trampoline. It's kinda hard, and take a lot of time.
a) If you doing it into pow, you have nothing to fear. I landed on my face in 20cm of fresh (See image) and was fine. b) If you can touch your quads when flipping, you have the backflip, assuming the jump is kicky enough
