******Backflip Help******

umm well im not an expert or anything. Ive did like 10 of them and just learned them last March but there not to bad. To not hit your head dont rush it and make sure you pop up!, not just striaght back. If you pop up and back you should be able to do them off of a small jump. My first attempt i landed striaght on my head and i thought i was dead but sumhow it didnt even hurt lol. Just make sure you dont freak out when your upside down and stop the rotation! Thats what I did. As long as you keep your head looking back then you should make it around fime or maybe even overshoot it. If you jump forward and do a gainer on a trampoline it feels a lot like that. Just more scary because your skiing and you dont want to do. Its really not bad though once you do it! GOODLUCK!

I was at windells session 5 and 2 kids smacked their heads 2 days in a row. one had to be air lifted off hood. scary stuff, i saw it up close. the first kid was sezuring and didnt know where he was.

It really doesnt take alot of air. i did my first one on a reallyyy small jump and got it. i hucked it hard but atleast that gave me confidence to move onto a bigger jump. u get it once and then ur not scared. its alot easier then you think, just lean back and i find that if i try to look at where im going to land it helps(spotting the landing during the rotation if that makes sense.)

go on the video section of NS and type in backflip and watch all the videos. analyze them. What the person did right, and wrong (if they crash).

Find a good jump. This is key. Steep, hopefully soft landing. If its just a park jump, a 5-10 ft table would be good with a decent sized jump. but more importantly, get a feel for the jump. hit it a few times and feel comfortable in the air and stretched out and good. End of a pipe also works too.

Go off the lip get a good pop and throw your hips to the sky and look back. Don't be a pussy. Your body should rotate as one piece. Bring your knees up. You won't stall out if you just keep looking back and keep rotating.

Just make sure you rotate past the point where your upside down. If your tips catch, you'll double eject and your body will finish the rotation. If you over-rotate, you'll land on your back, but its okay cause the slope is downhill so it won't be a hard impact. Good Luck.

Fuck all you Pokemon people, you're supposed to do that to shitty threads only.

I can't really help you though, backflips scare me. I'd much rather do a frontflip.

When i first learned Backflips i had the same problem, kept thinking i was gonna smack my head on the lip of the jump. What helped me a lot was learning to do gainers of the diving boards. When you do a gainer of the diving board you have to pop off the jump first and then throw your flip around, thus you don't come back down on the diving board and hit your head.

Best of luck.
