Backflip at Alpental

So I was riding up chair two at alpental today and someone absolutely launched a backy. (ducked a rope and immediately threw like a 40ft backflip off a cliff on the lookers right of the chair). Please claim this someone and if you have film of it I would love to see it. Thanks, Sam

didn't see it happen. was it off the kante cliffs that go right by that cable? or a bit further down from there?

It was like 50 ft down from there at the top of that cat track thing. Biggest backflip I've ever seen in real life. He was in like a blue coat white pants and riding jjs I think.

when you say cat track do you mean the part of kante thats narrow and you have to traverse across and has cliffs roped off to your (skiers) right?

Claim, minus the white pants (dark grey) and about 25ft. Was it right where the rope line ended and just before the last tree?

that's crazy! there is next to zero set up time between ducking that rope and sending that cliff. the rope usually sags to making it hard to duck

I did it both Saturday and Sunday.Saturday was a back slap, Sunday was to my feet. I didn't duck the rope so maybe it was someone else. I went just below the rope line, I actually clipped my arm on the pole on Sunday.

On a side note, I just started riding at Alpental and I am looking for people to ride so if anyone is down hit me up.

Yea I only saw saturday but that was nuts and it'd be sick to ride sometime. Next time I see you up there I will say hey. I wish I had the balls to throw a backy off that cliff.

I love that these little kiddies think that your flip was 40 or 50 ft. I'm sure if you ask them how big their peep is they'd more than double it as well. lols

No doubt was it a nice flip, just thought these kids are funny. Definitely a sketchballs place to huck a back, like andrew said.... not a lot of time to spin or set it! Props. I have Contour footy of it from my side point of view that day.

Sorry for bringing a post back from the dead. I dislocated my knee and am holed up at home. That sure was a fun day at alpy.
