Are you gonna be mounting AT bindings on those things? Either one of those are going to be pretty heavy for climbing once you get them mounted. Gotamas are pretty sick and stiff for a fattie.
The prophets are also totoally dope, got to ski them once over in europe and i loved them, but they are the fayyest things i have ver seen, so when they say back coiuntry thats all they mean
i usually ski in steamboat, vail, or a basin on powder days. i also want them to be good in trees so thats why im considering the maidens since they have more sidecut but ive heard the gottamas are really agile for theyre size.
first Msp's are not a Big mountain 'powder' ski like the gotama or the made n ak or the jp vs julien. neither is the arv. their underfoot is around 90mm. 92mm for the Msp and avr I believe. the seth pistol is more big mountain with a 95mm underfoor but i would say gotama. Like you said it has a great swing waight and I believe it has a higher tail then it does tip which helps with those stylie 180's off cliffs.
^ dont get me wrong MSP and ARVs are sick overall and will rock powder. But if you want a ski that you will use only in the BAckcountry and trees cliffs etc then why get a ski with regular rideing capabilities? the Gotama and the Jp vs Julien have 105mm and 103mm underfoot. I would say go with Volkl Sanouks but they aren't twin tipped so you can try 180's and stuff like that. They are beastly though 110mm underfoot.
