Anyone have this shovel? I can get a good deal on it but one of the backcountry.com reviews says the probe gets stuck sometimes. Kinda a deal breaker if its true

i havent used this shovel in particular but i am not a fan of shovels with a probe in the handle because if you lose the handle somehow your probe is gone too

thats a good point. I was thinking just buying it because I can get the shovel and probe together for pretty cheap. I might get it but just keep the probe out of the shovel.

I have one, I think the issue the review may be talking about is that it can sometimes be slightly difficult breaking the probe back down, but as far as removing it, it comes out pretty quick and the probe snaps into locked position pretty damn quick when you throw/pull extend it.

get a real probe like a bd guide propeople who skimp on bc gear suck

It's like you don't value your partners life

beacons don't find bodies

beacons tell you where to start probing

bca makes some cheese dick stuff and some good stuff

that probe or any fit in the shovel type probes are garbage imo

strange response;felt like I was reading a haiku or something. but the reason I'm asking in the first place is because i do value my partners life(nohomo).

If the probe and shovel combo works great then I see definite advantages to having both together and ready to go.
