Backapcking in SE Asia

Is there anyone on here who did this before?id like to do it in a year or 2.can you tell me a few things.i was thinking start in india and finish in either cambodia or thailand.if you did is that possible to do just with local trensport?. how much money it costs for few months,transportation inside the countries and situation with backpackers(do you get robbed and stuff) thank you.
 
I'm going in 2 weeks for 3 months. Anyone with experience in the area have any input?
 
The living costs(food, shelter) are fucking cheap. Thailand is probably more expensive due to the fact that it is more touristy than some of the other countries. The people are mostly extremely friendly and im sure you guys will have fun!
 
Went to cambodia like 2 year ago, its a awsome place, you gotta hit up angkor wat and angkor thom, siem reap is really touristy but outside of that not so much, just keep your stuff organized and you wont get robbed
 
i had a few friends who did this last winter, they had an amazing time. rent a motorcycle/vespa and it will make traveling so much easier.
 
I had a friend go there all by himself, he said he would go back without hesitation, given a chance. It all depends on your persona. If you guys are outgoing and stay positive, you shouldnt have a problem.
 
my gf is now backpacking in thailand, according to her there is an good transportation network and the hostels are good aswell
