Back spray from skis

Hey guys I am just wondering about back spray from twin tip skis. I get a very big amount of backspray from my skis to the point where I have to watch where I go because its like I shoot people when I go by and in front of them.

Could this be because I have bad form and I don't learn far enough ahead when skiing or something? Or is this mainly due to me being a bigger guy at 6'3 200lbs?

I'd really like to learn how to fix this if possible. I don't see any of the really good park guys spraying like I do, so I'm hoping its something i can fix.

Its from your skis being chattery as in bouncing the tip along the snow and as you initiate your turns it slaps the snow and tosses it up. If I get into any slush my osrk skis roost people up to 20ft away depending on speed. If you ride switch you'll notice your noses do it alot more due to the increased flex

No, it's just because of the chamber from your skis which sprays snow up. There's nothing you can do to stop it apart from going real slow.

i feel like the steeper the tip in the back the worse the spray i remember some old lines were like snowblowers at one point.

I think the old k2 hellbents are the worst for the chatter spray.

yea i have the same problem im 6'0 200lb and i ride some line afterbangs. Anyone who skis with me knows not to get behind me because my skis kick up so much snow haha . I dont have this problem on my 4frnt TNKS however because they are a lot stiffer ski. I prefer to call it a " Rooster Tail"

This is exactly it. I remember most park skis had crazy steep tails and tips. Some of them looked like they did a 90 degree turn and pointed straight up. You'd spray a lot. Now they're more low profile and gently curved, so you don't spray as much. I'm thinking of K2s, but I can't remember which ones.

Was that to look cool, or I wonder if it's easier to grab those really turned up tips.

My friend had public enemies and skiing behind them was like a white out. Was horrendous snow / ice flying everywhere. Thank god he hasn't used those in years

I have a pair of k2 iron maidens that do it in any snow, i dont mind it at least it means im not getting people coming up right behind me.

I kinda like the way the spray looks. My filthy riches especially create a lot of it. Don't really see it as a problem unless doing follow cams.

I'm fairly certain - correct me if I'm wrong - that it's caused by being on your edges. If your bases are completely flush against the snow, you don't spit snow up.
