Who wears one? Or thinks they are a good idea.

I was thinking of getting one for bigger kickers or whatever, just thought it might give me a bit more confidence dropping into them.
Only problem is, i can only get one for about $120...

I know some skiers use them for backcountry, idk how well they would work for freestyle.. might make you kinda stiff

I do know people that use them for freestyle.

Doesnt affect them atall really, Kristi Leskinen used to, or still does wear one. So it's not like no one does. Just wanted to know if it is worth it

taylor felton does (at least on urbans it looks like).....it's in january's freeskier in one of the ads for slytech..... www.slytech.it

i'm looking into getting one, last time i skiied i landed pretty hard on my back, i see loads of the u.k pros wearing them at comps and stuff. I think i'd rather wear one than have a broken back.

on a sidenote, how was your trip to les deux alpes cam?

iight, ehh i recon if u fall hard enough to break ur back, a proctector wont stop that ( i know a guy who broke is back even though he was wearing a protector) , its just nice on rails and gives ur back a bit more support on big landings.

i wear one in the park, and in no way affects your flexibility, i can still get a double tail wearing mine. i was glad i was wearing mine today. was learning corks/mistys and took about 10 landings straight to my back. although i wouldnt have died without one, i'm sure i would be more sore than i am now. impact shorts are nice too.

what ever u do done get demon the plastic they use it shit and although it passes the certification standards they dont test them bellow zero. mine shattered on impact and left me with plastic in my back. my dianese one is the shizzzz and has save my spine many an occasion now plus its comfy and makes you feel like turminator the first couple of times you wear it

okay thanks guys.

so basically, it's not going to make a difference if i land on my back, nothing to go blowing £70 on when i need to buy other things first. But worth having if i can get one

I got one through protect. Was like 40 bucks. I never ski without it no matter what. Has no effect on my flexibility, I don;t even notice it while skiing, and there a good chance I would have broken my back without it.

i wear them for speed races like downhill and super G....and occasionally in the backcountry depending on conditions. they are really great and don't affect your flexibility or range of motion. it makes you feel a lot more confident becuase your back just feels a lot stronger. my friend borrowed it to just try it out going off kickers and stuff and he liked it...i donno...i think its worth trying out if you are worried about hurting yourself and it affects your ability to do trick you want to do....

if you can find a cheap one you should try it out

^this one is $99.95 cuz its on sale. its the same kind i have.

a bunch of mogul skiers wear them as well as backcountry so it probably won't limit you anything - personally i don't really know what i think though i don't think its necessary in moguls or off of smaller jumps but into the bigger stuff and cliffs its not a bad idea
