Is anyone else suffering from lower back pain coming in to the ski season and is a little nervous if it may get pulled again. What are you doing to prevent further injury?
i am, i fucked it up maybe a year ago and it still bothers me, i just do some stretches my mum, whos an OT, taught me, and that helps it for a few days to a week
true, im just scared its gonna get pulled again early in the season and it screws me over for the rest, I have been arena jibbing though and its been fine, anyone else??
Yeah I had back pain, stuffed some of the discs in my back in a fall.
Went to the physio though he gave me a whole lot of stretches and some pilates to do to strenghten it. Don't know why you've done but they would probably help you too.
I broke my 8th vertebrae rock climbing this summer. Some days its ok, like today, other days my back fucking KILLS. I'm kinda nervous to see how ski season turns out.
Pretty lame, doc told me there really isn't anything I can do about it.
I stretch alot and do yoga and it still doesn't help...though I'm guessing this is probably because my pain is only slightly muscular and more due to the vertebrae that was broken.
I have scoliosis and to make it worse got in a bad car wreck causing me to walk funny now. Skiing and biking HELP, because they build/strengthen the muscles in the back
i am...it sucks so much dick. i just went up in the mountains the last 3 weekends and this last one fucked me over. we built this jump over this house and there was a trench you had to clear and i cased the jump and barely missed the trench and i just fucked up so bad i have the footage. but i have had back problems for 3 years now.. i have 3 diseases in my back and they suck.i have my lower vertebre L6 slipping off of L5 and it hurts soooo bad but i have gone to physical therapy, chiropractor and accupuncture but im soon to go get some message therapy done so hopefully that will work!
i'm going to my chiropractor, have been for three years now. i always get the "tune-up" he gives me a discount because my mom is an old friend of his from rugby, only $10 for the usual tune-up, and $20 if he has to do something extra to fix my fucked up neck or shoulders or summat.
YES YES YES! If you're fortunate enough to not have some past trauma, most lower back pain comes from tight hamstrings and weak abdominal muscles. stretching the hamstrings has really helped me, once you're flexible enough, start deadlifting to beef up those hamstrings and back.
do more than just stretch. strengthen it. do leg lifts and lay on your stomack and lift your arms and legs like super man and hold that for like 30 seconds at a time. i had a compression fracture in my back a few years ago so im always stretching. try laying on your back and roll backwards so your knees are by your ears. it looks weird, but it works.
stretch those hamstrings. back pain and neck pain scare me. ive got a problem with the top 2 vertabrae in my spine cos of when i went face first into a wooden post and got whiplash or something and every now and again it locks up. which is ridiculously painful
stretching will save your life
You could either do the normal one where you sit on the ground with one leg pulled up. If that hurts. then you can lay on your back and pull your knee to your chest to stretch your upper hamstrings. Or put a towel around your leg and lay on your back with your leg straight at 90 degress and pull it towards you until you fell the stretch.
touching your toes thing is kinda good. but like make sure your head is forward liek your neck bent aswell cos that properly stretches it.
another thing which is kinda had to explain via words but im not gonna make a youtube video to show you so here i go. sitting on the floor legs stretched out forward. firstly take right foot and put it so that the bottom of your foot is against the inside of left leg like on your knee and the outside of your leg is touching the ground then lean forward and with both hands reach as far as feels acceptable, not too far or you will die. hold for 30 secs then repeat opposite way. this helped me dunno if it will help you
I fucked something up last year and went in 3 month ago and had a damaged sacroiliac joint and some tore muscle in did 2 months PT and it still hurts just sitting here on the computer.
In April of last year I knuckled the shit out of an 80 footer ... As a result i had a sharp back pain for about 2 weeks after and a soar back for months. It eventually got better and I was ablet to play a full season of college soccer with almost 0 pain.
Fast forward to last month, I was ballin around in the gym- go for a simple layup and tweak the shit out of my back. Sharp back pain comes back in the same spot as before. Gradually gets better.
At burke today i took a digger on a jump. i tried to get out of the landing asap, but the sudden movement of trying to get up killled my back... I literally could not get up on my own, and the unbearable pain continued for a full 3-4 hours after.
Anybody have any ideas what it could be? pulled muscle?
Yeah bro, my cousin picked up a uhaul trailer by himself this summer, and he's had trouble skiing lately. He's a fucking man, and he was basically crying two nights ago when we were skiing
