Not to be a hater, but this is why kids should learn proper technique before throwing out tricks. Off a big jump, you should be able to sense if you're flipping to fast/slow and then be able to speed it up. Call me a hater, but it's not a hard thing to learn to speed up or slow down your flip. And it is something that people should learn before flipping.

Laying out your backflip allows you speed up or slow down your trick more. I have found that when I tuck my flip right away, I have no way to speed myself up if necessary or slow myself down.

Exactly. If OP was properly taught, he should have recognized he was flipping too slow. From that point, it is rather easy to drop your arms to the side or tuck to speed up your flip.

You are probably the most cocky person on here....one fall and you assumed so much. Fuck you.

lol me too, i layed it out, went to slow, slammed my knees in to speed up but ended up going tips first into the knuckle. my neck still hurts

instead of hitting jumps, i carve around them, snaking people un-intentionally, and pretend that the features are obsticales.

to be honest i'd rather under rotate and face plant than over rotate and get the whiplash effect of my head snapping back and breaking my fucking neck.

did that. it was retardedly painful. necks snapping forward, not so bad. neck snapping back? owwww.
