I have just deployed some changes to the back-end of the NS Forums. Everything should look and work exactly the same as before, and if it doesn't then something is likely wrong.

Please reply below if you have any strange behavior in the Forums today. I'll do my best to fix it ASAP.

On people that have replied to a thread (like this one), I can't click on their name and be then directed to their profile. I have to click on their karma or use the search bar to get to their specific profile.

Doesn't happen with the OP's name.

Using Chrome on Win Vista.

I need more information. What page, where did you click, what page were you on? etc... I can fix anything I can reproduce.

In multi-page threads, the links to the subsequent pages are missing once you're inside the thread (and the "First" "Prev" "Next" "Last" buttons aren't clickable. The only way to access additional pages is to navigate back to the thread listing page and click the page number next to the thread subject.

I'm seeing this in Firefox and Chrome on PC.

sounds like some people cannot view their messages. They click on either the name or message inbox up top and it just refreshes the page. I'm fine, but i'm hearing people have issues

Please keep reports flowing in both good and bad. There's tonnes of rolling updates happening right now, so things will break-word-break as we go. Its hard to catch everything, so if you guys can keep on top of what you see it helps us a ton.

As well, always report browser / OS version - including all possible mobile setups. These days, there's a fucking assload of browser/OS combos we have to account for. :)

I dunno if it's related, but videos hosted on NS are loading super duper oober slowly the last couple days. I mean it easily 5 minutes to load 1 minute of video. and I really don;t think it's the connection as it's saying 30 Mbps on speedtest.net and youtube and vimeo load very fast. unless Rogers is throttling whatever connection is loading NS videos? I wouldn;t put it past them..

i dont know if this has something to do with it, but in the mead menu, if i move with my mouse over videos or any other link the lower menu changes, but when i want to go to that lower menu it changes back to the selected one!

for a while before an update in 2010 i want to say, you could do that. Much better than the whole 30 days thing. Although as a mod, you can see all of them regardless ;)

name colors are gone and lay-out is messed up on various places such as bottom of threads and top of profile pages ...

running chrome on seven....

some lag time between creating a thread and having it appear in the thread listings. appears when bumped.

the rate bar is now at the top. not sure about that yet.

i think the previous page and back to listing links should be above the sharing options though

I like the AM/PM feature, very nice! can you add a space between the seconds and the AM/PM though?

Yeah I think the AM/PM thing is pretty legit but a bit too big.

And also I am definetly not a fan of when you go to a member and look at their threads, I liked that it went away after a month.

Why you do this?

I like seeing threads to the beginning of time more. Easier to judge people. I think it's a nice add on.

Anyone else being logged out excessively? Or is someone fucking with me?

I am too. I thought it was my shitty internet connection though. However, when I get logged out all the threads still show up in black rather than blue (unlike when I log myself out).

Well everyone was a newb when they first joined.. I don't like people creepin' on my threads from when I was a total noob-troll. haha

don't kid yourself frenchy, you're still a total n00b-troll. The only difference now is that we've learned to accept you the way you are. Our little 'special' guy !;)

Cant change my icon/profile picture. Says upload starts but never does anything

I feel like they should be able to fix it, it's just a matter of time/effort. If I had to guess, I'd say that the forum generates pages based on the number of replies. So, when someone makes a reply, number of replies goes up one. Once it hits a multiple of 50, a new page is made and subsequent replies is placed on the new page. But, when mods delete replies, there's no code in place to subtract one from the number of replies, causing new pages to be made, but replies still being placed on the old page.

That being said, I don't know how the forum is coded, and maybe it's a simple fix, but the time it would take for every single thread to be updated might be too long for this to be worth it.

they only happen when posts are deleted from previous pages. The current page is fine, but when it happens on previous, it sucks everything back to fill that spot and doesnt update
