here're a few tips for backcountry safety:
-avalanche safety gear is a waste of money, just strap some bacon to your thighs and the avy dogs will smell it
-touring gear is a waste of money, just hike in zigzags directly up the middle of what you plan on skiing down
-trees are not natural anchors, stick to open faces because they're more gnar
-a lot of times your friends won't have time to go with you, fuck em, go alone. it'll be more fun not having a bunch of clowns holding you back
-the avalanche danger scale is backwards so that gapers don't track up all the gnar pow, so when it says high, it's actually skier code for low
-if you're headed into the bc and a storm is coming, it just means free refills, keep going
-if caught in a slide, dig down as far as you can go and you'll eventually hit china...it's the only hope of survival
-if you're standing on top of a cornice, jump up and down a bunch of times as close to the edge as possible so you can check the durability
-try to ski when ski patrol is bombing the hills, it's like playing tanks, they try to hit you, you evade them
-instead of bringing a probe, bring a very sharp spear and jam it into the snow where your friend is...it'll get through faster and potentially save his life
-sporks work better than avy shovels, but make sure the spork is metal
