On NS alone, the back button is very glitchy. I aven't had this problem until last night. Pretty much if I want to go back a page I have to click the back button as many times as I can, as fast as I can.

I don't have this problem with any other sites. It's like it wants me to stay on these specific pages.

I'm using Chrome if that matters.
 
That's really weird. We don't control the back button, its part of the browser and should just move you one page back. Are you sure you are waiting for pages to load fully before trying to go back?
 
this used to happen in Google Images a lot, still does sometimes.

one way this is done is when you click the link to a page, it directs you to an 'invisible' page that as soon as navigated to directs you to the desired page without you noticing. this means that when you click the back button you're not going to the page you were originally on when you clicked the link, but you're going to the page that was there for a fraction of a second that redirects you back to the same page. this means that one needs to click the back button a few times really fast to get out of it. sounds like what is happening.

obviously this isn't Newschooler's doings. Take note of what ads appear when this happens, it might be one of them? Also when it does happen check your browser history right away. There will probably be a page in there between the two pages you though you went between. post up the information to that page.
 
also some websites do it on purpose when they have bad programmers and it messes up information when someone goes back so they have it so when you go back the previous page just bounces you forward again.
 
actually I just looked up some methods and apparently Java is a popular one for doing this.

disable you Java and see if it still happens. if it doesn't happen anymore then it's something on the page that's using Java, and that should narrow it down a lot.
 
My computer in general has been acting funny lately.

Everytime I go to a new website I get some 'certificate' notification that I have to approve.

Even websites like tinychat (nschat) doesn't work anymore for me. I gotta figure out how to get this shit back to normal.

And I've gone back to Safari, and the back button works again for me
