Bachmann: I'll bring back $2 gas

How about when gas was over 4 dollars during the Bush Administration? The president has no control over gas prices, and expecting them to control it is absolutely ridiculous.

The stimulus plan failed because American's didn't do what we were supposed to do. While we were being stimulated, we took our checks and deposited them into our bank instead of spending them like we were meant to, and we continued to cut back, instead of taking advantage of the resources granted to us.

And what is 1 trillion doing in reality when we are spending multiple trillions of dollars every year on a war that cannot be won, and is taking lives, that Bush started?

I respect your politic opinions but jesus christ this is the most stupid use of statistics i have ever seen. That's like blaming the doctor for the symptoms of the cold you caught a week ago.

If she wins, Canada's going to need some kind of system to deal with the population influx. For your sake, I really hope she doesn't become president.

your saying he has no control over unemployment levels...yea explain me that one.. Instead of cutting back spending when were already in debt over our head, he increased it. Now his stimulus package didnt work and were left with an even bigger hole. Obama solution to this problem is printing money which has never worked EVER, just ask Germany. And when measuring inflation rates they leave out gas and food, 2 of the biggest items that should be taken into account into our country. If Obama doesn't stop spending were fucked, simple as that

and dont blame bush for this one, he promised to pull out of Iraq by now and were still there

and we know all politicians stick to their promises.

Shit, we accomplished the mission in 2003... why didn't we get the fuck out then?

I live near her district and i have honestly nooooo idea how she got elected...

but then again im not surprised

Ok, I could tell you I'm a fucking ham sandwich, but that doesnt make it true.

Where are the facts to back up your statement, not some campaign ad?

as much as i hate bachman, i dont think she has any chance of getting the nomination, shes just too damn crazy.

on a seperate note, anyone else feeling this guy? not trying to start a political war btw

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Dude. you need to look stuff up.

While Rick Perry has been governor of Texas, Texas spending has gone up 281%, in the same time federal spending has gone up 234%. He is not financially conservative. That campaign add is at ends with his record.

Governor Rick Perry is the same guy who ran the 2000 Texas campaign for Al Gore. He only switched parties to make hims self more attractive to Texas voters.

I honestly did not see that add as very different then the ones Obama was running 3-4 years ago. The main difference was the digital aging effects added to the video in post, and more pictures of 'Heartland America.'

ill try to address all of those comments:

the president has more control over gas pricing than most think, but one thing is for sure, not allowing offshore drilling isnt helping the problem

i could have predicted that the stimulus money would go straight to savings, why would someone invest money in such a volatile market? it doesnt make sense why the government would try to pump so much artificial money into the economy (by artificial i mean money that wasnt earned but given, and essentially has little value due to how many people received it)

the 1 trillion in stimulus is only part of the presidential budget which is currently a waste. the money is wasted and cant be accounted for, you get scum who launder money, and funding of jobs that shouldnt be paid for by the gov't or even created period. (ie. a 1 million dollar net along the golden gate bridge to prevent suicide attempts, which serves no purpose considering if people wanted to commit suicide they arent going to jump off a bridge into a net) it all boils down to money that people dont earn on their own they have no respect for, you get these construction projects that no millionaires would ever invest in but just because companies get this stimilus money they dont care if it is a poor investment.

As for the war comment, i feel that everyday were in iraq and there isnt a major terroristic act in the US is a victory. 2,000+ civilians died on Sept 11 attacks, over the last 9 years or so we have been in the middle east, 3,000 soldiers have died. Considering the fact that without the war against terror we could assume we would have had similiar attacks and lost more civilians. Soldiers know when they enlist that they could die for their country. When you live in a world where people are willing to kill thousands of people just because of religion, WAR will be needed, so i dont understand why everyone thinks that the whole world can sign a big peace treaty because that will never FUCKING happen.

what a fucking idiot! The day Obama took office OPEC had taken the hit from the world's economic downturn, and the price of oil was much lower. No shit it's gonna rise back to where it was when Bush was president. Bachmann is nuts, she's too religious for my liking.

this is sad but true. If she actually could pull it off i would be amazed, but she probably wont get the chance to.

Overall shitty theme to run your campaign off of.

as for the other comments, I think we have both made our points, it would just break down to squabbling by now. Obama has not done his best job, but I am glad that a republican is not running our country.

But I completely disagree with this.

2,000 dying is a massive tragedy, but you say 3,000 like it is a small number, and those numbers that are truly peoples lives are expendable. That's 3,000 kids taken from their parents, parents taken from their children, brothers and sisters taken from their sisters and brothers, all over a war that is taking place completely overseas and apparently protecting our national security.

Soldiers know when they enlist what they have been told by their recruiter, which is to think that if they die, it will be for their country, when in reality, when a soldier dies, does our country get better? No, but it is another American that the terrorists got to kill. 31 soldiers died in a helicopter crash. Did our country become safer right then and there to make it work their lives? It is brainwashing. They know that they will get an education, paid, and taken care of when they enlist. The rest is a lie. Shit, most of them aren't even well taken care of these days.

But to what the original point was: The cost of the war is fucking insane. We spend billions of dollars weekly, and I am sure I am underestimating that number. There is no way we should have been there that long. Most of the nation's debt has come from fighting this war. Look at the prewar and postwar numbers. The money could easily have been redirected into ACTUAL SECURITY for the nation, instead of fighting a war and killing our kids. Hell, the security we have has been enough to stop any successful major attacks from happening since 9/11. So what are we fighting that fucking war for, again?

I pay $1/liter in alberta. Also, doesnt she remind you of class president? MILK WILL BE FREE AND HOTLUNCHES 20 cents CHEAPER.

this is without reading the whole last page, but there was a radiolab or this american life episode that was a story about how the brazilian economy was absolutely off the scale for whatever reason and totally fucked up much like ours in the 80s or 90s I believe. To solve this problem they brought together the best minds to solve the problem: economics professors and the sort. They had been researching how to solve the problem, in theory, for a couple years, and then all of a sudden they were called upon by the government to implement their plan that would save the nation.

Long story short, it was obviously haywire at first because it was a total shift from the norm of buying and selling of goods, but as it played out, it totally worked and saved the crisis they were in.

I'm not saying we should hire the best economist professors from the best universities to solve the debt problem, but there needs to be drastic measures taken to solve the problem, and that will involve a shift in what we, the american people, have been so used to for as long as we can remember. Einstein said that doing the same thing over and over again to produce a different result, with no avail, is insanity. Probably one of the greatest quotes to live by. Realize.

And I haven't been following the whole political thing recently because my access to the public media is limited, not to mention, once again, it's between a giant douche and a turd sandwich; however, this time there's literally a giant douche between her legs, and a big ol black turd sandwich. (not meant to be a racist comment, but cmon, that shit's hilarious!) very punny I know!

He had a super majority in congress for two fucking years and all the Dems did was fuck shit up even worse.

So when, exactly, is Barack and his cohorts actually responsible? Will it be Bush's fault in 2012? 2015? 2365? It's always woe is Obama, he got dealt a bad hand. Well no fucking shit, but he shat on his bad hand.

It also seemed like many people who were so enamored to vote for the man though he could single handedly fix the economy. Waffling like some mafuckas

Its michelle bachmann, i think everything she does is an excuse for bashing.

plus, when was gas 1.79 a gallon when obama got elected? I must of been sleeping or something because i do not remember that. I like it how conservatives complain about taxes and unemployment but will follow someone whose main platform is lower gas... doesn't make sense to me.

Republicans and democrats are fucked and their bickering back and fourth is ruining this country. Its why i do not vote.

It's michelle backmann, anything she does probably deserves bashing.

i don't remember gas being 1.79 a gallon when obama was elected president... must have missed that.

Republicans and democrats are both fucked and their bickering back and fourth is getting our country nowhere. I don't think I am going to vote for the next president... I don't want be be responsible for it.

Except Brazil is a complete shit show compared to where they should be because of their resources and population.

i can tell you right now that those are not his words. He definitely has some pr guy drafting those commercials for it. Politicians do not say it like it is... they say whatever they need to to get the most votes.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The man who talks about how he hates the stimulus, while taking stimulus money. Who talks about how Texas unemployment is lower, while neglecting to mention how much of it is from public sector jobs. If you are going to pick someone as your messiah for 2012, at least pick an actual conservative not that hack.

Your sense making post has no place in modern conservative politics.

How dare you use logic and common sense. HOW DARE YOU!

Why does everyone act like the president has no-control over gas prices??????

like i said no allowing offshore drilling, is why we have to pay so much for gas.....why do you think the UAE is so fucking rich. just look a Dubai that should be an indicator that were doing it wrong

Yeah, only tree huggers care about offshore drilling. After all, it's not like there's been a recent ecological disaster that wiped out several industries in the Gulf or anything.

I'd argue each of your points, but clearly you've been indoctrinated. Let me guess, you were raised with Fox News in the back ground?

Really though? You're equating Iraq with 9/11? What's the connection again? Ohhhhhhhh riiiiiiiight.......Iraq was in cahoots with Al Qaeda, right? Oh....no? Hmm.

And, if you believe the US occupying several countries in the Middle East (while some sadistic soldiers are killing unarmed civilians just for fun) is making the US safer.....well, you're just an idiot. At no time in history has there been more world-wide disdain for the United States and its foreign policy. We have willingly placed a target on our back through our insistence to meddle in foreign elections, and our track record of secretly supporting and funding rebellions. Many of the people we now find ourselves at odds with are the very same people we at one time deemed the lesser of two evils. The US is in no position to police the world. Period. We just can't afford it, even if it were our "moral obligation".

The truth is that we were attacked by an amorphous international group that spans at least three or four continents. You can't go to war against an identity like that in a traditional way. In fact, blindly retaliating against countries and regimes that aren't even linked to Al Qaeda has only given terrorist organizations more recruiting material. Look at the middle east and northern africa right now....they don't need us to "liberate" them. They're capable of it themselves if/when they deem it necessary. We did it...isn't it arrogant to think only we can be successful?

She's going to expediate 500 million plus years of accumulation of dead algea, plankton and other carbon based lifeforms with concurrent geomorphical processes into a few days? Hell, I don't know why you wouldn't vote for her.

Even if she COULD do that with gas. It either wouldn't last or wouldn't make up for all the other dumb shit she would do.

America can't afford to have a female in the President's seat.

Ahh stop complaining you lazy Americans... I'm paying $1.35 PER LITER!!! It costs $65 to fill up my beetle for fucks sake.

This is one of the best jokes I've heard in a long time.

Kudos to Bachmann for the lulz!

That had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the BP spill... the contract for that exploration came out far before that went into effect.

Also, it effects places like the California Coast a lot more than the Gulf, due to the seafloor depths... And hell fucking no, we're not allowing another Santa Barbara 1969 fuck up all of our very vulnerable wild life off our coast again... Hell never. There's enough rigs out there as it is...
