thanksgiving, weekend after? its gotta be right around there.

Anyone in Bend got a place for myself and 2 buddies to crash at for acouple days before we get a house lined up? Im headin down friday morning. Would be awesome if you could pm me with a number if you do.

Ive heard rumors of 18th and 20th. Not entirely sure, but i think its probably the 20th.
Who knows really. Should be open by thanksgiving week I would assume.

Wow... I was up there Tuesday, and it snowed more by thursday and there was even snow in Chemult and La Pine and stuff when I left thursday afternoon. Came back from Tahoe and all of a sudden theres a lot of dirt on the web cam :(. Supposed to snow starting thursday though!

I dont think Bachy will be open (maybe last minute), but you could still ski. Theres a pretty big storm developing in the gulf of AK.

Damn, yeah we were up there and were setting up some tree jib just below the cone and it was SHALLOW compared to before halloween. Well before halloween we were getting face shots and not hitting anything! It is even worse now then last week, but these storms should make things better, but it doesnt like it will create a solid base because of the low temps and density of the snow in the upcoming storms.

so far this year has been miserable. all those hope and talk of la nina and it couldnt have gone any worse for the resorts here. we got that solid early snow storm, should have built a good base, then it got semi warm and rained. that would have been ok, but after several days in a row of way warm temps on the mountain and a little bit of rain the snow is completely gone now. back to square one. now we're supposed to get a decent storm this week but there is no base, im afraid the same thing is going to happen.

hope so, this storm coming in later this week is supposed to be solid. hoping for 2-3 feet over through the weekend.
anybody remember 3 years ago? snowed almost 750 inches at meadows that year, we had a solid 200 inch base or more from late january through april. incredible season.

i think that year set the record for bachy for the month of january. 179 if im not mistaken. i remember skiing nipple deep pow on center mounted volkl dogens and loving every second of it

ya, i had some of the best runs of my life that year, and i was born and raised in salt lake city (skied there for 11 years, still get back at least once a winter). the snow that year was just as good as the wasatch powder, such an incredible season.

Yupp 3 years ago. WCS week up at Ski Bowl was almost all pow on a 200 inch base. Shit was crazy.
You could ride to the timberline parking lot in mid August that year.

well, it snowed almost two feet, but the forecast isnt looking great. scattered showers over the next few days might drop a little more snow, but longterm is looking dry (albeit cold). hopefully they got enough to build a decent base that actually sticks around this time. pray that it stays cold so what we have doesnt melt away again.

negative nancy! Negative Nancy! Mt hood got 24" in a day with more on the way and freezing levels dropping.

someone mind filling me in? i thought there was like a 10 inch base before the snowfall in the past couple days. people are talking about feet at hood but bachy only has 20 inches at mid. what did i miss?
