B-Dog absent from the Canadian Olympic Slopestyle Team

dude dara fucking kills it, she's from my home mountain, i bet b-dog doesn't even care, he's got better things to do than the olympics.

If the criteria is that you have to have won or podiumed at major comps, there's a lot of those guys that shouldn't be on there.

mistake not having maude on the womens slope team.

if tj is healthy I say hes the best chance in the olympics

Who makes the team is solely based on results.Think about it....when is the last time you saw b-dog anywhere close to the podium.

Exactly

you talk like you know your shit, but you dont. stop being so damn condescendant.

Charles gagnier has competed in quite a bunch of slopestyle comps this year. he was at WSI in whistler in both slope and big air.

so please if you dont know stop talking. your opinion is irrelevant...

This is just the Olympic team. He's on the Canadian National team. I doubt Cassabon has much interest in the Olympics, or that the Olympic team has much interest in him, as he's not the kind of skier that would do well in a slope comp.

i'd like to see him compete in the olymics so that olympic viewers non-familiar with freesking can get a chance to notice his style and flow on the course, not to see him win gold.Thats for TJ to accomplish

stupid comparison. But really this is the olympics, not some video shoot. They could care less is b dog looked sick during his run, it all comes down to whos the most technical and throws the biggest tricks. not style

The release is about the national team, not the olympic team. Olympic team won't be announced for a long time.

"I don't think Charles has even competed in slopestyle in the past 2 years"

I never said Charles hadn't competed in the last year, I said that's what I thought. If you can read, it's quite clear I made no definitive statement about him.

I'm not a big Charles Gagnier fan, so I don't know much about him, but I know my shit about freestyle skiing.

Btw "condescendant" isn't a word. The word you were looking for is "condescending".

I'll throw this out for you guys. (No clue if this is what's happening, but it's just a fact)

He might have been invited to the team and denied it, or he just didn't get invited. BUT, Either way, he can still go to the olympics. You don't have to be ON the National team to qualify for the olympics. Truth.

Example: Shaun White and Louie Vito, Both COULD be on the US National team, but instead they deny the invite and work with Bud Keene as a private coach. As long as you are in the top 30 or whatever it is by the time the qualifying period is done, you will get an invite to the olympics even if you're not "signed" with a national team.

I have a feeling this could be the case. In White and Vito's case, they would forfeit they're funding by not joining the american team. Maybe there was a conflict between large sponsor funding (Armada, Full Tilt, Oakley, Orage, B-Dog is on the biggest companies in the industry). Like maybe he wouldn't even receive the funding anyways so not being on the team would open up a spot for someone like Irvine or Charles. Canada's olympic funding is scarce, even when we hosted in 2010, funding was low for athletes. Again, just a though.

Precisely.

Face it, Olympic slopestyle is going to a pure double (maaaybe triple) fest, with really fucking marginal rails.

Yuki's a young 17 year old girl who's been crushing it all year with multiple wins on the North Face Park and Pipe open series, along with a Third Place finish at the AFP World Championships Slopestyle at WSSF.

You're going to end up eating your words, the girl can throw down.

Have you won multiple competitions this year and ended up on the podium at platinum level AFP events competing as a man? If not, I think it's outrageous to think you would be capable of the same if you were a girl. You would have totally different circumstances/physique/mentality and it's nothing but ego claiming you'd be winning comps and Olympic bound if you were a girl.

PS. For everyone that hasn't clued in yet, National Team does NOT equate Olympic team. Olympic team selections are made only in the months prior to the actual games themselves. A lot can change in 2 years with injuries and progression.

When you say he doesnt have the bag of technical tricks, i think you're wrong.Almost none others can do what he is doing on the rails section. Unless you think the jump section should be all doubles youre right. But if he is doing one double he definitiely has everything to be on the podium.

The canadian team should have him on the B team and just work on what to do. What i can see is that you better live with you're past results and be out to be taken on the team. Anyway if he proves himself next year , he can be on the olympic team. For this he will have to perform each contest where he can get AFP points.

you all forgot that you have to pass a drug test to be able to compete.... something tells me casabon won't be passing that one anytime soon.. i could be wrong though.
