B.C. is an unreachable aspect for most of the skiing community

the B.C. is very expensive and the majority of skiers will never get to experience helly trips and cat skiing. Tanner needs to get that through his thick skull, just because most of us are happy skiing parks and have a blast doing so doesn't mean that we aren't sick great skiers, we're just doing what we like and thats fine. I know we'd all love to go to canada or alaska and ski pow but in reality it will never happen unless we become rich dentists or sick pros. So F$$# Tanner and the rest of the pros who hate on park, thats whear the soul of the sport is and is going. just had to do that, big ups to all the pros who are true to park and enjoy it

dig it.

I heard of this cheaper way to get to the BC but I forgot, oh right it's called hiking. but you should know what your doing first.

y would I hike when i can ride the lift at my local resorts to sick pow on the epic days, and not have to worry about my body being lost and never being found

I prefer BC over park because the BC is

1.Free

2.bigger jumps

3.more photogenic

4.softer

5.Theres cliffs!

because skiing powder is fun, and it can be safe if you no what you are doing. but I just thought you were complaining because you could not get to the BC. so I gave you an option your being pretty stupid.

are you fucking with me?

you dont know shit about landis, u dream about skiing the shit hes filmin and riding all winter. show some respect.

correct! BC is a reachable aspect for most people, i mean if you live in the northwest, all you have to do is go up into the pass a hike, and ski pow, cliffs, and huge BC booters

you need to watch some more of his clips, and it seems that you have never done shit in the BC so I would sugest removing your dna from the population. they clearly suck.

hungry sloth is really pussy gay shit, me and my crew hit knarlier shit everyday, we just don't brag about it cuz we do it for the love, and don't have a f##$ing camera man

I know so many broke ass ski bums in utah that do nothing but ride BC. Realize that most people who are in the BC aren't richer than you...they just have more drive and motivation

first of all

its gnarlier

landis is doing it for the love also, he isnt selling his videos

and lastly hungry sloth's filming will wupp yo monkey ass anytime of the week

I think your jealous because landis lives in Alaska and works his ass off compared to you

Can I get an AMEN, brother?

It seems like you are just bored or looking for attention by hating.

IF that isnt not the case:

Just because you arent able to ski BC doesn't mean its gay or anything. I mean really, I could say the exact same thing about park skiing. All of use Alaskans wish we could ski some Tahoe park but instead we have BC (albiet sick, it is not always good; weather is VERY unreliable). How do you think we felt before newschool breached into BC? The "new thing" was all park and we had jack shit. All we had was wind lips and cliffs to do shit off, and this was like 7 years ago.

Now freestyle skiing has hit the BC scene and thanks to inspirations like Pep, Pollard, Mahre, and anyone who crossed the jib/pow threshold, we can take after them and really feel like we get a benefit here.

You're right, I have never done 5's off 30 foot cornices into pow or cab cork 7s in the BC, but I don't believe I ever did. BC feels so great because there are even less rules than park, you can go bigger, and for the brief time I am hitting a feature, I can truely feel like one with nature.

AMEN!

I really do it for the love. Although I will charge for NEON next year, keep in mind none of it will be profit whatsoever. All money goes towards making better vids for everyone so really your money is coming right back to you.

as far as work, I truely have devoted myself to filming. I dont just take laps through the park with friends and film half the time (even though that sounds fun).

for example, we got 6' overnight, and I skipped school and went skiing with my bro. When I could have done some of the most epic powder in my LIFE, I chose to film it instead and bring great shots of Lucas for the Neon promo. I have passed up skiing, sex, drugs, and all around fun just to film or work on bettering Hungry Sloth.

u had a slightly valid point about tanner but then u totally ruined everything by hating u idiot just cause someone has the opp to ski bc doesnt mean u have to get all defensive hes just arguing the other side of the spectrum get over it u ignorant fuck

You sir need to get Laid, big deal they film good on them skiing is what ever you make it, if you wanna work your ass of 50 hours a week then go shred by your self or with friends great , if they wanna go out and dshred with filmers and kill it get famous and make money good on them..

No one gives a shit how much you work seriously.... go do the world a favour and use some of that hard earned coin and go to a brothel and relieve your self casue you soundin like a pussy STarved bizatch

So basically you are saying you are too lazy to do any B.C.

Hiking and Snowmobiling are both affordable ways for the common man to do it. Tanner is not saying that everyone needs to spend every waking moment in the BC but you should definately check it out before you die....

Wisconsin, the land of "large" hills... we're talking an average of like 400 feet tall excluding grante peak, which comes in it a whoping 700 feet.

I refuse to believe that you are stuck in the midwest. If you want to ride pow bad enough, you can make it happen. Go on a trip. Move, or if you haven't graduated, go someplace with lots of snow and great BC. This stuff is not inaccessable, and is not the realm of just the pros. You just have to be willing to work and struggle for it, like anything that is truely worthwhile.

This is the best post I have ever read in my 7 years on NS. Thank you very much for this moment of intelligence. Everything you just said is spot on. Ok, I understand if you are like 10 years old and are stuck in Michigan skiing only park. But for so many kids on this site, Good pow skiing and maybe even BC is definitely within reach. It's just a road trip, or college decision away. So stop your bitching about never being able to ski anything but park!

"You just have to be willing to work and struggle for it, like anything that is truely worthwhile." --holy shit best NS quote ever. This brought tears to my eyes in it's startling truth. If you seriously have the drive to ski BC or do whatever, you can, All it takes is hard work, dedication, and a bit o sacrifice.

"B.C." is a term thrown around a lot now days. If you are looking to ski BC conditions, ie steeps shoots etc, take a trip to the west, you can find that shit all over the place.

Your an idiot, nice job misquoting Mr Hall and making an ass of yourself. I would very highly doubt that any skier will never get the opportunity to hit BC stuff. You have legs, and like the vast majority of people in the BC, you can use them.

The BC isnt too expensive, the BC is what you make it

if you have the drive and the passion to get there you'll do it. You just have to do what it takes to be there. alot of skiers are too lazy and would rather pack the pipe while riding the lift up after waiting in line for 30 minutes. just to lap the pipe. So while it may cost money here is a solution, you have 2 feet use them. While sleds are much nicer and make access easier, you can prevent the cost by hiking. If you live in another state i understand it being hard to get to the bc. But if you want it you'll make it happen. Skiing is a sport and a hobby and is exactly what you make of it, even if there is a cost, you'll do it if you want to get there bad enough.

"pro" level BC, what the fuck is that supposed to mean? Anywhere there are mountains, you can find "pro" level BC, it just might not be evry stable. But it is quite accessible, you just have to hike.

ok lets think about this reasanobly.. go outside your house.. look around, you might see mountains with white stuff on them.. now the next step is for you to get off yur fat ass and hike up one of the mountains or hills and then when your at the toyou are in the BC.. i might be totally biased living in alaska and seeing mountains every damn way i look but whatever

exactly! I actually prefer hiking over sledding for the following reasons:

1. It is healthy

2. It warms you up for the skiing

3. It is kind of fun (hiking up with friends)

4. It is healthy

I know some gnarlier lines requier a sled, and in those cases, I prefer a sled.

But hiking isn't all bad. If you just get off your ass and walk up a hill like a big boy, then you might be able to actually ski some sick stuff. If you are physically unable to hike up a mountain with ski gear, then you probably shouldn't ski BC in the first place.

Why the shit are you fucking putting pussy ass little shit in for your damn swear words? You bitch.
