Ayahuasca trip

while we're on the topic, has anyone ever tried ayahuasca or like peyote or something similar. i don't even know if u can like get the stuff, but i'd like to hear from anyone who had a personal experince. all of the things i've heard (including that article above) say that it can cure like anything and makes you get rid of bad things or w/e. seems pretty whack, but i'm starting to beleive after reading 100's of people's stories

ya id liek to know more about that stuff cuz its suposta be really indepth trip, cuz the active stuff int he root is dmt. sounds like quite the experince

It is a very natural trip, definetely no distractions that sometimes synthetic chemicals like Research chemicals can provide. I support the new wave Ayahuasca movement in the States, but I must make very clear, READ AS MUCH AS YOU CAN before trying it, not just how to make it ;). Being in nature with ayahuasca flowing through you is amazing, a total realization occurs as to your existance. I highly recommend a session in the wild, start off with small doses though, growing the plants yourself also adds another enormous depth to it.

Well it is supposed to be quite the trip, with a deep spiritual experience, but also involves loads of puking (purification), demoniac sights and a lot of scary stuff. After though you apparently feel cleaned out.

if you consume enough, you puke for a few minutes within the first 45 mins. If you've never vomited under the influence of a psychedelic, then it can be quite the event... but I say try it, you will not regret it, as long as you are in your own home, or a place where you wont be disturbed by the 'modern' society. Although, on low doses seeing the 'modern' world for what it is can be amazing, but can be quite depressing upon the first big realization of the destruction and selfish naivity of it all.

ive been reading into this plant for a while, it seems pretty interesting, i will have to be with the right people to eat it tho.

yea i'd like to try it too, but i think i would wanna try it with like a shaman or w/e that knows what they're doing. the tour the guy went on in the article is like $1000 something for like 8 days, so i doubt i'll be doing that, but i'd really like to experience the effect.

Im reading a pretty intresting book about the orgins of ayahuasca and how secluded tribes in the amazon figured out sorts of plant medications and practices (such as curing chronic back disorders) while in the midst of their trips. The book also shows how the ideas and fundamentals of DNA are intertwined in the ayahuasca experience.

Great book. I forgot if he mentions it or not, but that the scientist acredited with the discovery of the double-helix structure of DNA stated he came up with the idea while using LSD. It ties very well with Narby's ideas in The Cosmic Serpent.
