I still have a issue floating around somewhere. it was my first skiing magazine. It was the shit.

just read freeskier.
after the buyers guide i'll never read it again as with other people i know. to think, freeskier used to be a pretty high end and reputable publication. now every other page is an ad and honestly, that's just sad.

freeskier has sucked ever since the 02 season. there have been a few good issues since.
Axis was sick. I loved the hidden qutes and captions. I swear i am still finding new shit when i look through them

axis was pretty far ahead of its time. Yea, there was freeze, and freeze had been around, but axis was just newschool in every way.

Axis was sick! It had the first nosepress on skis I had ever seen. It was Mike Nick in Japan I think. They only released 2 or 3 issues. Wasn't J-Lev largely involved in the magazine? He was the editor or something like that.
Freeze was absolute garbage. It had photos by Chris O'Connel, absolutely terrible writing and really lame humour compliments of Brad Holmes. Chris O'Connel is a good photographer, but I like to see diversification in a publication, not just one photog shooting the same Oakley athletes. They did the same canned interview with athletes every issue.

much much more than 2 or 3 issues try around 2 years
i remember that japan issue too, first skier mag i ever bought, good cover page too black and white pic of a ledge in quebec city i think, it was the david beaulieu cover on this site awhile back
and that nosepress blew me away when i saw it
